The action of the sequel takes place two years after the events of the first part of the series, i.e. in the year 2185. We play the role of Commander Shepard, who, after successfully repelling the invasion of the Reapers, has to face a new danger. It turns out that human colonies are gradually disappearing from the fringes of the universe. The main character is forced to ally with the ruthless Cerberus organization and sets out on a suicide mission to investigate the causes of the loss of these planets. We can start the game in two ways, namely by creating a completely new character or by loading a saved game from the first Mass Effect. In the latter case, we can count not only on the preservation of the unlocked character traits, but also on the transfer of information about all previously made decisions to a new universe. This, in turn, can have a significant impact on the course of the game. For example, an individual whom we helped previously may now try to repay us somehow. The main character is not forced to explore the game world alone, because, like in the first part, we can lead a team of up to three people, choosing helpers depending on the preferences, class, skills or characteristics of the current mission. In Mass Effect 2, we lead both celebrities known to fans of the series (including Tali'Zorah) and completely new characters (including Samara and Thane). In this sequel, even more emphasis was placed on the need to fight spectacular fights. This time around twenty classes of weapons are at our disposal, as well as many interesting biotic powers, the skillful selection of which allows us to achieve successive victories. Compared to the first part, the systems responsible for aiming and giving orders to teammates have been improved, as well as a more complex mechanism of dealing damage (the ability to deprive the enemy of limbs, mutilate him or blind him with a headshot) has been added. The gameplay, however, is not only about combat, as numerous conversations with NPCs have also been improved. Skillful selection of dialogue lines, combined with the use of personal charm or the intimidation function, can now lead to even more interesting solutions. We still use a spaceship to move between the main locations, selecting new destinations directly from the galaxy map. It is still possible to study less important planets in search of interesting finds or minerals, although the manufacturer has significantly diversified the range of available side missions. As a result, they are no longer limited to the necessity to eliminate hostile creatures. The visual setting of Mass Effect 2 has been maintained in a similar graphic style to the first part of the series, also presenting a similar level of performance. During our adventure, we visit planets with diverse architecture or unusual fauna and flora. Events are still seen from a third person perspective.

The game also includes weapons that are not used by the regular army, such as stun guns, shotguns or police batons. You can also use various gadgets, such as zip-lines or lines with hooks. Battlefield Hardline is the first installment in the sub-series of the Battlefield series of first-person shooters. Unlike the previous parts, the main role in creating the game was entrusted to Visceral Games - the authors of the Dead Space survival horrors - and not, as it was before, the Swedish EA DICE team.  Battlefield Hardline abandons the traditional theater of war for a conflict of a different caliber - the struggle between the police and organized crime. The player takes on the role of Nick Mendoza, a young detective from Miami, who sets out on a personal vendetta around the United States, aimed against his former partners, whose prospect of getting rich quickly has been drawn to the path of lawlessness. The structure of the plot is modeled on TV series, i.e. there is a division into episodes often ended with twists. The detective sequences, during which Nick collects material evidence and identifies suspects, are a bit of a variation. He can also undertake additional tasks (e.g. eliminate criminals being chased by an arrest warrant) to earn additional money and gain experience points needed to purchase weapon upgrades.  The maps in Battlefield Hardline are smaller than in the previous installments of the series. Due to the plot location of the game, urban areas dominate here, although there are also locations set in, for example, American deserts. The game is back in the game, the Levolution system used in Battlefield 4, allowing a high degree of destruction of the environment, having a real impact on the appearance and shape of the maps. The creators redesigned the artificial intelligence of computer opponents, thanks to which individual missions may take a slightly different course when you play them again.  Battlefield Hardline is set in the present day, so players can take advantage of a large arsenal of modern weapons, equipped with a wide range of tactical accessories. The game also includes weapons that are not used by the regular army, such as stun guns, shotguns or police batons. You can also use various gadgets, such as zip-lines or lines with hooks. As in previous editions, also in Battlefield Hardline you will find a lot of different vehicles. Players can steer helicopters, police cars, special forces combat vehicles, boats, and even civilian cars and motorbikes.  As is customary in the series, the main emphasis is on the multiplayer mode, in which the participants play the role of law enforcement officers or criminals. Multiplayer in Battlefield Hardline has received new variants of competitive gameplay. In Heist mode, a team of thieves tries to break into a bank while the cops try to stop them. Blood Money - somewhat similar in concept, but with a faster pace of the game - pits two teams against each other in a fight to secure a lot of money. In Rescue, the SWAT squad must free the kidnapped hostages. The Hotwire mode is quite original compared to the others. It is a car chase after escaping thugs - depending on the chosen side, the player must lose the forces of order or hunt down the bad guys. In addition, players can play in traditional modes (eg Team Deathmatch).
