Azur Lane: Corsswave is an action RPG that is a spin-off of the popular mobile game Azur Lane, produced by Chinese studio Shanghai Manjuu Technology. However, the producer of the title is the Japanese companies Compile Heart and Idea Factory, specializing in jRPG productions and known mainly for the Hyperdimension Neptunia series. The original mobile Azur Lane made its debut in China in May 2017, a few months later the production was released in Japan, where it immediately became a huge hit. A year later, the title officially went to users in the West. The popularity of the brand meant that it was quickly adapted in the form of comics, books and an anime series.
Story
The action of Azur Lane: Crosswave takes place in the world of the mobile original, which is controlled by fictional factions that reflect real-world countries such as the United Kingdom, the United States, China, Germany and Japan. They all formed the eponymous alliance called Azur Lane. At the instigation of invaders from outside the Earth, however, Germany and Japan broke out of it, which created the so-called The Crimson Axis. The goal of the Axis is to gain control of the world using weapons and technology provided by its secret masters. In the ranks of the armies of both sides of the dispute there are young girls who are anthropomorphizations of actually existing military ships that fought during World War II.
