Urban Empire is an economic strategy about city management released on the PC platform. The productions were developed by Finnish studio Fragment Productions, known from the Rescue series , and released by Kalypso Media.
Gameplay
The gameplay in Urban Empire, available on PC , takes place over two hundred years, starting from 1820. As the decades go by, technologies and geopolitical conditions change, constantly providing us with new challenges. In total, while having fun, we can have fun across five main historical periods.
When we start playing Urban Empire, we choose between four families with unique features, disadvantages and philosophy of development. For example, for the Kilgannons, social justice is a priority, while the name Sant'Elias is associated with the belief in improving the well-being of society mainly through scientific development. In the game, we are not an impersonal manager, although subsequent mayors are imposed on us according to the line of the family we represent. While playing, we obviously have to fulfill the typical duties of a mayor. It is therefore necessary to build infrastructure, plan neighborhoods, fuel economic development, and keep residents happy and solve their problems. Technological changes, such as electric trams, antibiotics and the advent of electronic games, bring with them both challenges and opportunities to improve the life of society.
