Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is a refreshed version of the twelfth installment of the popular jRPG series, prepared on the basis of the extended edition of Final Fantasy XII International Zodiac Job System. Story Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age takes place in the world called Ivalice, long before the events of the original Final Fantasy Tactics and Vagrant Story, in an era when majestic airships roamed the sky and magic was everyday reality. The dominant political forces in Ivalice are the uninterrupted war Rozarria and Archadia, mighty empires spanning two opposite continents. Between them lies the small Kingdom of Dalmasca, which is taken by force by the Archadian army. The main character of the production is 17-year-old Vaan, an orphan and a street thief who dreams of becoming an aerial pirate who lives in Rabanastre, the capital of the occupied Dalmaska. As a result of a coincidence, he meets Princess Ashe, the leader of the local resistance movement, as well as a couple of pirates who, like him, plan to rob the city administrator appointed by Archadia. Soon, with them and his close friend Penelo, he embarks on a long journey in which the fate of the world is at stake. Gameplay Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age introduces completely new elements to the series, absent from its previous numbered versions. We observe the action from the perspective of a third person. By controlling the selected character, we explore large and often open three-dimensional locations. Our team has a maximum of six people, but there are only three on the map at the same time. The title does not use the system of random encounters and fights in separate arenas, for which Final Fantasy is known. Instead, players attack enemies directly on the world map. The fights take place in real time, but the game offers an active pause, in which we calmly give orders to the hero by selecting them from the pop-up menu. In addition to the standard Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age campaign, it also offers additional game modes. New Game plus allows us to start the game anew, preserving the experience and equipment gained. In New Game minus we start the game anew, but this time they don't gain any experience. The challenge mode, in turn, allows us to hunt creatures on over a hundred different maps.
