Call of Duty: Black Ops is the seventh installment of the famous FPS series, which focuses on spectacular action. The studio responsible for the game - Treyarch - has prepared several previous parts of the brand (Call of Duty 3, Call of Duty: World at War). The next installment of the series departs from both the first Call of Duty and the newer Modern Warfare climates, taking players to the Cold War era. Singleplayer The entire single-player campaign was presented in the form of an interrogation of Alex Mason, a well-trained commando for the CIA who is being held by unidentified persons. In the next stages, he returns to the missions in which Mason took part, controlling himself or other people from his squad. It is worth noting that Wiktor Reznow, one of the main characters of Call of Duty: World at War, plays an important role in the new game. In Black Ops, as in the previous parts of the series, you travel all over the world, visiting Vietnam and the Ural Mountains, among others. Black Ops is primarily a one-man campaign consisting of extremely spectacular missions that put players in extremely unusual situations. In one of the tasks, we pilot the Hind helicopter and eliminate enemy posts in the jungle, and in another we are on a Lockheed SR-71 scout plane, from which we support ground units (informing them about the enemy's positions). The missions are based on scripts, so they are linear, although on the other hand, they guarantee an amazing experience. In most of them, we focus only on shooting, although some of them also allow you to sneak and fight from hiding. Gameplay The gameplay itself has not changed significantly, although there are some new weapons in the game, more suited to the era and the realities of the Cold War. Players can shoot with a crossbow with an optical sight, for which several types of ammunition (including explosives) have been prepared. Among other new weapons there are also powerful Dragon's Breath missiles for shotguns. As usual, we meet a lot of opponents - this time they are a bit more intelligent. It is worth adding that the creators used a system of hits on various points of the body (a similar solution was used in World at War). Multiplayer An important element of the next installment of the popular shooter is, of course, the multiplayer mode, in which vehicles (known from World at War) reappear. The basis of the game is a system of perks (skills) and various weapons, which allows you to create your own class and unique soldier. Killstreaks (kills in a row) also return in the game, although they now have different rules (their number is carried over after the character dies). It is worth adding that in the PC version of the production, support for dedicated servers has been restored (it was missing in Modern Warfare 2).

Call of Cthulhu: The Wasted Land is a tactical turn-based RPG in the convention of horror. The whole was created by the independent studio Red Wasp Design, and the production was assisted by Chaosium, the publisher of the tabletop role-playing game Call of Cthulhu. Thanks to this, it was possible to transfer to the screens not only the atmosphere of the original paper, but also a lot of its mechanics. The authors set their production in a dark reality created by the American writer Howard Phillips Lovecraft. In this vision, the universe is full of alien deities and ancient beings much older than the human species. Some of these entities ruled the Earth millions of years ago, and now lie dormant waiting to wake up. Call of Cthulhu: The Wasted Land takes place during the First World War. The player takes command of a small group of six composed of detectives and soldiers. They will have to face a blasphemous ancient creature who stirs up conflict between powers and wants to use bloodshed to build their own army of the undead. Call of Cthulhu: The Wasted Land belongs to the genre commonly known as tactical RPGs. The gameplay consists, in particular, in fighting turn-based battles. The game boasts a quite extensive combat system. Each character has its own number of action points that determine what actions, including attack and movement, can be performed. For example, we can fire a pistol twice in one turn. The rifle, on the other hand, requires reloading, so you can only pull the trigger once. We can improve accuracy by aiming for longer, which costs more points than shooting from the hip, but also gives you a better chance of hitting. The shield system plays a key role in reducing the risk of injury. We can also set ambushes for enemies. If, at the end of the turn, the heroes still have action points in reserve, then when one of the enemies is on the line of fire during the enemy's turn, our units will attack him automatically. In the course of the struggle, we make choices influencing the course and ending of the scenario - although we cannot change the fate of the world, the choices we make translate into the fate of Alexios / Kassandra's loved ones. The story is conveyed through interactive cutscenes, in which the developers for the first time in the history of the series gave players the option of choosing dialogue lines (role-playing). It is worth mentioning that historical figures appear in Assassin's Creed Odyssey. They are mainly the philosopher Socrates, the historian Herodotus who documents our actions, Hippocrates (known as the father of modern medicine) and the leader of Athenian democracy, Pericles. Nevertheless, the axis of the plot is still a fictional conflict between the Assassins (represented here by the lineage of the main character) and the world-manipulating Templars (in ancient Greece organized into the cult of Kosmos), in which artifacts of the extinct First Civilization still play a significant role. Of course, we can try a more subtle, stealthy approach and eliminate our enemies quietly, without letting them see what’s coming. The combat is not the only activity available in Arkham City. During our stay in this hostile place, we can explore the area that is approximately 5 times bigger than Arkham Asylum. The city is full of The Riddler’s puzzles, random events, and engaging side quests. In addition to that, the developers from Rocksteady have given us the opportunity to play as sensual Selina Kyle, better known as Catwoman. The heroine possesses a number of unique skills and equipment, allowing us to try out a completely different set of skills. Reception Arkham City received extremely positive feedback from both critics and the gaming community. According to the Steam platform, 96% of user’s reviews are positive.
