Calvin Klein - Calvin Klein - Bog - Rizzoli International Publications - Plusbog.dk

This book is published with three unique covers. Customers will receive one of the covers at random when they purchase the book. This magnificent survey is the first and only book that Klein has written and compiled himself and is illustrated with era-defining photographs by the most distinguished names in fashion photography, from Irving Penn and Richard Avedon to Bruce Weber, and Patrick Demarchelier—among others. In it, the world’s most iconic models like Christy Turlington and Kate Moss, are captured in images that would define their careers, and remain indelible to the consumer. Accompanied by private insights and behind-the-scenes stories that only he could tell, every image has been chosen by Calvin Klein to narrate his evolution as a designer—from couture to jeans, underwear, and fragrance—all categories in which he redefined what was chic and essential. As an icon of minimalism, modernism, sexual provocation, and androgyny, Calvin Klein’s first book will find broad appeal with anyone interested in design, fashion, or photography. Few names in fashion are as recognizable as that of Calvin Klein. This unique book presents a stunning archive of images that reveal his timeless influence as a designer. From founding the company in New York in 1968, he went on to change the face of fashion, bringing his visionary minimalism to the fore and defining looks for generations. Divided by theme, with characteristic simplicity and sophistication, each of the three sections in this volume looks at one singular element of Klein’s approach. In Provocative, we see the most controversial of his campaigns, from Brooke Shields’s infamous teenage portraits to the seductive photography of underwear collections. In Minimalist, we understand the simplicity, refinement, and elegance in every collection. And in the final section, we read in the designer’s own words the insights behind the campaigns and the secrets behind the successes.

The last book completed by William Klein within his lifetime: A landmark retrospective encompassing Klein's legacy of creativity across photography, filmmaking, painting, book design, graphic design and beyond. Photographer. Filmmaker. Artist. Designer. To master one of those disciplines would be a lifetime achievement for any creative individual, yet William Klein's career was celebrated in each of them over the last eight decades. Klein was one of the great image makers of the 20th century and one whose work remains an enduring creative influence on the work of contemporary artists, photographers and filmmakers. With over 250 images, this career retrospective explores the late William Klein's entire creative and artistic arc. Directed by Klein himself, from the selection of content to book design, this large-format publication looks back at his uncompromisingly creative lifetime, showcasing Klein's prolific and relentlessly innovative contribution to the world of photography, art, design and filmmaking. Published in association with a major retrospective at the International Center of Photography, this book is a comprehensive take on his career. While best known as a photographer who broke all the rules and conventions, William Klein: Yes focuses on the full range of Klein’s work, from his abstract paintings through to his startling, authentic street photography and photobooks and his dynamic, satirical take on filmmaking. With a flowing, chronological text by David Campany, this book will be both an introduction to William Klein for a new generation and a source of fresh insights for those who already know who William Klein was: a true original.

Melanie Klein in Berlin - Claudia (psychoanalyst Frank - Bog - Taylor & Francis Ltd - Plusbog.dk

In this book Claudia Frank discusses how Melanie Klein began to develop her psychoanalysis of children. Melanie Klein in Berlin: Her First Psychoanalyses of Children offers a detailed comparative analysis of both published and unpublished material from the Melanie Klein Archives. By using previously unpublished studies, Frank demonstrates how Klein enriched the concept of negative transference and laid the basis for the innovations on both technique and theory that eventually led not only to changes in child analysis, but also to changes in the analysis of adults. Frank also uncovers the influence that this had on Klein''s later theories of the paranoid-schizoid and depressive positions, and on her understanding of psychotic anxieties. The first seven chapters in the book provide an explanation of the essence of Klein''s approach to child psychoanalysis covering topics including: - the inevitability and usefulness of negative transference - development of play - early conscious and unconscious phantasies. - Part two provides a translation of Klein''s unpublished notes on the treatments of four of the children she analysed in Berlin: 7-year-old Grete, 2-year-old Rita, 7-year-old Inge and 6-year-old Erna. Melanie Klein in Berlin is the first text to make extensive use of Klein''s unpublished papers, clinical notes, diaries and manuscripts. It will appeal to anyone involved in child psychoanalysis and the development of Melanie Klein''s thinking.
