Wisteria Floribunda Caroline Wisteria Sinensis Caroline

Wisteria Floribunda Caroline Wisteria Sinensis Caroline

Wisteria Floribunda Caroline or  Wisteria Sinensis Caroline also Wisteria CarolineThe Wisteria Sinensis was first introduced to the western world from China in 1816. The cultivar Wisteria Sinensis Caroline is a relatively new variety. It was created in New Zealand and is widely coveted for its breath-taking flower display and striking foliage. Unlike other wisteria climbers, Wisteria Floribunda Caroline blooms in the mid- to late spring months. The fragrant flowers persist into the early summer. The flower racemes of the vine start to bloom simultaneously to create a stunning display. Each dangling flower cluster measures up to 30 centimetres in length. The racemes are comprised of small pea-sized lilac and purple blossoms. Bees, butterflies and birds adore the sweetly fragrant blooms. After flowering, the Wisteria Sinensis Caroline produces bean-like seedpods. As summer progresses, the pods ripen. When autumn arrives, they normally still persist on the vine for visual interest. The foliage of Wisteria Caroline is feathery and soft green in colour. The pinnate leaves are made of 11 small leaflets that emerge a grey-green in the spring and take on a brighter green shade during summer. When autumn arrives, the dense foliage turns a bright yellow. When fully grown, the Wisteria Floribunda Caroline will easily reach a height of 9 meters. It grows well against walls, a trellis, an arbour, a pergola, or a fence. It will also grow free-standing if given ample support for its heavy frame.Plant the Wisteria Sinensis Caroline in full sun for ample flower production. It will grow in partial shade, but will generally not produce as dramatic of a flower display. The vine prefers moderately fertile soil that is well-draining. During the first year of growth, keep the soil moist to encourage the vine to produce a strong root system. After the first year, the vine can tolerate short periods of drought well. The Wisteria Caroline requires regular pruning to maintain its overall size and shape. Pruning also promotes new growth and better flower production. Restricting the vine’s vegetative growth by trimming encourages the vine to produce short flower shoots. Prune Wisteria Caroline twice a year: in January-February and again in July-August. There is little doubt that the Wisteria Floribunda Caroline is a dramatic addition to any garden setting that is sure to gather great admiration. Its eye-catching beauty is awe-inspiring. Plant the vine anywhere that the blooms can be visually enjoyed and where the blossoms heavenly aroma will tantalize the senses.

Rosa Paul's Himalayan Musk Rose. Rambling Rose Pink Flowers

Rosa Paul's Himalayan Musk Rose. Rambling Rose Pink Flowers

Rosa Paul's Himalayan Musk Rambling RoseRosa Paul's Himalayan Musk is a hardy perennial climber with stunning pale pink flowers and scent. It is an old favourite introduced to the UK as far back as 1867 and has an RHS Award of Garden Merit. This is an incredibly popular rambling rose, and one of the best.Rosa Paul's Himalayan Musk is a vigorous climber gaining heights of 12 metres over 5-10 years. Its long thorny shoots grow at a fast pace clinging to any available surface. In summer it produces light green leaves and a flush of small pale pink double flowers in rosettes. These blooms hang on open sprays offering one of the best displays around. The fragrance of Rambling Rose Paul’s Himalayan Musk is strong, and as per its name smells musky, deep and distinct. This rambling rose attracts pollinators and plant enthusiasts alike with its wonderful scent and gracefully trailing branches smothered in blush pink. How Hardy Is Rosa Paul's Himalayan MuskThis is a pretty and delicate rose, but also one of the toughest. It can withstand the cold winters of the UK and Europe, returning to flower each year. How To Use Rosa Paul's Himalayan MuskThis is predominately a climber, so it best suits a fence line, wall, pergola or arch– any vertical surface with some height is good for this vigorous rose. It is ideal as a screen for an unsightly building or dead tree. How To Care For Rosa Paul's Himalayan MuskThis rambling rose is popular not only for its beauty and scent but for its tough nature. It can take care of itself once established, and provided there is support it will grow unchecked with speed. It will grow along the ground too, or as a dense shrub. Rose Paul's Himalayan Musk is a great choice of climber for a gardener that loves delicate pink shades and has a large area to cover. Pruning is not necessary, but you can contain the height with winter pruning. Be aware that rambling roses flower on old wood, so cut back with enough time for new shoots to grow before the next year. New plants will need water until they are established and a thick layer of rotted manure in early spring will strengthen roots and produce a stunning display of flowers. If you need a climber that is low maintenance and beautiful this is a top choice. Rambling Rose Paul's Himalayan Musk never fails to delight with its magnificent scented flower display and all the charm of a traditional English cottage garden.

Prunus Domestica Reine Claude Verte Plum Greengage Plum

Prunus Domestica Reine Claude Verte Plum Greengage Plum

Prunus Domestica Reine Claude Verte is a greengage plum variety. Greengage plums are cultivars of the common European plum (Prunus Domestica), best known for their greenish skin and rich, confectionery flavour. Although the first true greengage was bred in France, the ancestor of these particular plums was a wild specimen found in Anatolian peninsula. Reine Claude Verte is a medium-sized, deciduous tree that is considered to be the most popular variety of greengage plums, and it is the only variety that is almost an unchanged form of the original greengage cultivar. Its full botanical name is Prunus domestica subsp. italica Reine Claude Verte. This upright, compact tree flaunts a lush display of white blossoms in March through to April. The dainty, 5-petalled flowers are attractive to pollinators and followed by round, light green plums that can be picked from the tree in September. Do not let the deceiving colour of greengage plums fool you- these plums are juicy and exceptionally sweet. The fruit is equally tasty when eaten straight from the tree or when processed into preserves.Height and Spread of Prunus Domestica Reine Claude VertePlum Reine Claude Verte is larger than related fruit trees, and it can achieve a maximum size of 5 to 10 metres, with a spread of 2 to 6 metres. How Hardy Is Prunus Domestica Reine Claude VerteFully hardy in the United Kingdom, Greengage Plum can survive sub-zero temperatures, and it is not bothered by frosts. How To Use Prunus Domestica Reine Claude VerteAlthough plums can be quite decorative, with their beautiful natural form and romantic spring blossoms, these trees are mostly grown for their fruit, and Plum Reine Claude Verte is no exception. It can be grown on its own, as a specimen tree, or planted en masse for a more abundant fruit production. Its sweet plums are both culinary and dessert, but they do not store well unless frozen. As a self-fertile variety, Greengage Plum relies on insects for pollen. But, even though this cultivar does not need a pollination partner to produce fruit, it can serve as one to sterile plum varieties, particularly those who flower at the same time. How To Care For Prunus Domestica Reine Claude VerteEasy to grow and to care for, Plum Reine Claude Verte will be happy in any soil, but growing this cultivar in humus-rich, well-drained soil will give you the best results. Choose a spot in full sun to encourage better fruit production. When it comes to pruning, there is little that needs to be done to keep this deciduous tree healthy. If the heavy crops start breaking the branches, thin fruit as needed. An old and reliable variety, Plum Reine Claude Verte produces good crops of dual-purpose plums. Suitable for all training forms and considered low-maintenance, this plum variety is an excellent choice for beginners and experienced gardeners alike.
