Split Beater

The Split Beater has a "cross-cut" hewn into one end. This produces a clicking sound as it strikes the bodhran. The clicking can be adjusted by moving the grip band up or down the cut. There are a lot of different shapes of beaters and most bodhran players have a variety of beaters and tippers. The type you use is all down to personal preference.
