Hydrangea 'Runaway Bride' (PBR) - 6 Litre Pot
New variety and Chelsea Winner 2018 - Hydrangea ‘Runaway Bride’ is unlike any other – breathtakingly beautiful and incredibly floriferous, bred for its unusual flowering habit. Instead of blooming only at the tip of each stem, like other hydrangea, 'Runaway Bride' produces flowers at every leaf joint – creating a mass of delicate lacecap-style white blooms for early summer through to September. The mature flowers take on a soft blush of pink, adding another layer of charm and seasonal interest. Hydrangea ‘Runaway Bride’s unique flowering pattern creates an elegant, cascading habit, meaning this compact shrub is perfect for hanging baskets, raised beds, decorative containers, or even draping gracefully over walls and borders for a show-stopping display. Easily one of the most floriferous and vigorous hydrangeas around, boasting up to six times more blooms than a standard hydrangea. Although of the Macrophylla type, it’s no surprise that this stunning shrub – bred by Ushio Sakazaki – is thought to represent a new class of hydrangea, as an interspecific hybrid between an Asian species and Hydrangea macrophylla. Not only is it incredibly beautiful, Hydrangea ‘Runaway Bride’ is also neat, compact, and fully hardy – making it easy to grow and perfect for gardens both big and small.
