An overlocker works differently than a sewing machine. Overlocked seams are stretchier. While an overlocker sews with one or two needles and two loopers, a sewing machine sews with an upper thread and a lower thread that lock together between the fabric layers. In overlock stitching, two threads wrap around the edge of the fabric. Essentially, overlock stitching creates a seam and binds edges at the same time. Due to the special overlocker technique and threading, overlock thread is available on 5000 m cones. Our overlock thread is OEKO-TEX 100 certified.

This opaque, water-based textile marker is suitable for drawing on fabrics in all colours; both light and dark. This fabric paint pen is best used on cotton, denim, linen, silk, or textile blends containing up to 20 % synthetic fibres. Use your marker on already finished projects, or decorate them as you sew. The textile marker has a stroke width of 2-4 mm, making it an especially suitable all-round marker for decorative projects, upcycling or labelling children’s clothing, and more. We recommend placing a plastic sheet between your fabric layers, to prevent the dye from staining the underlying layers. Remove the cap and shake the pen for 1-2 minutes before use. Push the felt tip down several times, if necessary, to allow the paint to satiate the tip. After use, we recommend leaving your project to dry for at least six hours, before heat-fixing it with an iron. Cover your project, i.e. with a tea towel or another cloth, to protect it during fixation. Your project is now washable at up to 60°C - please wash inside out. To prevent the tip from drying out, please store your textile markers horizontally. The fabric marker is not suitable for children under three years of age.

Do you know the buttonhole elastic?It is exactly as the name describes: an elasticated buttonhole. But how come? Because you get even more flexibility in the waistband when you use buttonhole elastic. You simply sew in a button and then adjust the width at the waist by placing the button in the buttonhole that suits you. Elastic band for flexible useIt's great for those days when you're feeling bloated. It's great if you have a design that fits both your waist and your hips, so you can change your look from time to time. And it's great when you lend your clothes to friends and you might not be wearing the same size. In general, it just gives you a lot of flexibility! The elastic is relatively firm made of polyester and rubber. It is 19 mm wide and has an 8 mm buttonhole every 15 mm. Maybe you want to add buttonhole elastic to your next project? The elastic can be washed at 40° and tumble dried at low heat.

When you've spent hours designing, cutting and sewing your new garment, elastic helps to keep your garment comfortable to wear and use. This is a standard elastic waistband ideal for the drawstring in the waistband of your trousers, shorts or skirts. The elastic holds the garment in place in the waistband, so it stays just where it should.  It has a very simple and raw look; most often we use it as a hidden elastic band, but it also works well as an elastic band on a pair of night trousers, for example. The elastic can be washed at 40° and must not be tumble dried. The elastic is crocheted and has a width of 35 mm - perfect for a drawstring waistband or to finish off sleeves. One pack contains five metres of elastic band.

Elastic 10mm white 5m

1 cm elastic band? You're welcome!When it comes to elastic bands, there are several things to consider. One of them is how wide you want the elastic to be. Another is how thick it is. Your project and purpose will determine which elastic you should choose. This elastic band is a flat with a width of ten millimetres. It is still considered a narrow elastic band, but with the extra millimetres you also get an elastic band that has a little more. For example, use the elastic in the drawstring at the bottom of the sleeves or to finish off baby and children's trousers so that the trouser legs stay in place while your child tumbles and plays.  This elastic is crocheted, made of polyester/rubber, washable at 40° and do not tumble dry.

The invisible zipper!When you want to hide the zipper!  In some designs, the zipper is essential because it can be seen - in others, it's primarily about functionality. The latter fits this zipper, which is a YKK spiral zipper with teeth and stopper in plastic, while the drop shutter itself is in metal. How to use the zipperFor example, sew the zipper in the middle, back or side of finer projects where you want to hide the zipper - for example in light dresses, skirts, blouses and trousers. The invisible zipper is also perfect for bedding and decorative pillows, where the zipper is purely functional but not part of the design.  What you need to know about invisible zippersWe recommend that you buy this zipper 5 cm longer than the opening in your project to achieve the best result when sewing. Sew as close to the teeth as possible and use a presser foot specially designed for this purpose (item no. 46101 if you are using a BERNINA sewing machine and item no. 46172 if you are using a BERNETTE sewing machine).  On the invisible zipper, the spiral is on the back of the invisible zipper. When you sew it in correctly, the spiral tips over on the back and pulls the fabric with it, so the zipper itself is completely hidden.  Note: This invisible zipper is to be used as an invisible zipper only, as it is not stable enough to be used for other sewing techniques where the seams come far away from the spiral itself.   We recommend that you close the zipper before washing. Find a guide on how to sew in an invisible zipper by searching for "Sewing invisible zipper".  Know your zipper There are many different zippers. Functionally, they can be divided into three categories: the non-divisible with closed end, which is used for example in trousers and dresses. The separable, used for example in jackets and cardigans, where you need your design to open completely and the zipper to split in two. And the split 2-way zipper, used for example in coats, where the fact that it can be opened from the bottom as well as from the top gives extra flexibility.This zipper is non-divisible. All our zippers are nickel-free.
