Nutrix: Nurse Alert with Bed Mat

This Nurse Alert System has been cleverly designed to raise the alarm when a patient/resident leaves their bed or chair and can only be switched off by infrared control. This alert system is tamper proof making it ideal for patients/residents who may not consider themselves to need monitoring or who have been known to switch alarms off. The functions of switching the system on, off or reset it are controlled by a remote fob which is designed to be kept by the carer/nurse and is not possible on the local unit. This versatile item has different modes, allowing the caregiver to ensure a variety of situations can be aided with this one nurse alert system. As well as the ability to detect movement with the magnetic pull cord it can be set to raise the alarm when a patient either removes or applies pressure to a sensor mat. Sensor mats work by detecting the change in pressure applied to them. When in pressure-off mode the mat should be placed directly below the patient (on a chair or placed across the bed), and for pressure-on mode should be placed immediately in front of the patient as this will alert the nurse/carer when the patient stands on or walks across the mat. For discrete monitoring the alarm can be silenced.
