Death Rally is a brutal racing game by Remedy, a Finnish studio known for such series as Alan Wake or Max Payne. It is a highly graphically improved and well-developed conversion of the mobile hit, which was itself a remake of the PC prototype from 1996.
The game is a racing game about ruthless car clashes. The action is shown from a camera placed high above the car roofs. Players sit with the steering wheels of heavily armed and equally heavily armored vehicles, and their goal is both to reach the finish line and destroy enemy vehicles. We start the game modestly, with a small off-road vehicle with one machine gun. For winning races, we are rewarded with cash and parts that are used to build new cars and better weapons.
The game is not a simple conversion of mobile devices. Instead, it has been completely rebuilt with the PC in mind. As part of these improvements, much nicer graphics based on the new engine appeared. The control systems and cameras have also been reworked to suit the requirements and habits of computer gamers. In addition, we got an extensive and unified career mode, in which character development takes place both in solo mode and during multiplayer games.
