Ty the Tasmanian Tiger is a colorful, three-dimensional platform game, which is the first installment of the series developed by the Australian team at Krome Studios . In addition to several views of the cycle , this team has, among others, such titles as Star Wars: The Cone Wars - Republic Heroes , Hellboy: The Science of Evil , Viva Pinata: Party Animals or two parts of the series The Legend of Spyro . This production was originally released in October 2002 on Xbox, PlayStation 2 and Game Cube consoles. Over 13 years later, the Australian developer also prepared a refreshed version of the game, intended for popular PCs.
Story
In the game, we play the role of the title Tasmanian tiger (also known in zoology as a baggy wolf), which, adopted by a big-eared family, lives peacefully on a fictional Australian island as the last representative of its species. One day, however, our protagonist learns that his family does exist, and its members have been kidnapped and imprisoned in the Dreamland by a huge turkey named Boss Cass. In order to free them, the tiger has to find five magical talismans, scattered all over the continent in places that can only be reached with special teleporters. The problem is that special eggs, called Thunder Eggs, are needed to feed them. Regardless of the difficulties, our hero sets out on an adventurous journey, the aim of which is to free his kinsmen.
Gameplay
In terms of gameplay, Ty the Tasmanian Tiger does not differ significantly from typical representatives of its genre , such as the Crash Bandicoot series . The fun comes down to wandering in search of collectibles of various locations, dotted with various dangers and enemies to overcome. Our ward can, among others jump, bite, swim and dive, as well as throw a special boomerang, which can be further improved in the course of the game with new functions. The action of the game is partially non-linear and takes place in several zones with portals to the next levels. However, in order to use them, it is necessary to collect the appropriate number of eggs each time, divided into three types . We receive these for performing a number of different activities, such as completing various challenges or completing already unlocked levels on time. After reaching the desired talisman, we face a demanding boss, after defeating it, we gain access to the next zone.
