Brewdog 500 Cuts Rum Cherry and Dark Chocolate 70cl

Brewdog 500 Cuts Rum Cherry and Dark Chocolate 70cl

Brewdog 500 Cuts Rum Cherry and Dark Chocolate Perhaps best known for their world class beers, Brewdog also have an acclaimed range of spirits (Gin, Rum and Vodka). Now they have re-launched their Rum, and this time it comes in a pack.... With four different Rums, there is sure to be one for you! Brewdog make their rums in Scotland. With more than six centuries of experience, there is a long history of distilling spirits in Scotland and the country has everything needed for crafting rum – well, everything except for the sunshine. Scotland is not known for its tropical climate, so sun-baked molasses is shipped from the Caribbean to the state-of-the-art Brewdog distillery and transformed by hand into honeyed liquid, ready for distilling with plenty of Scottish spirit. Brewdog 500 Cuts Cherry and Dark Chocolate Rum is a sweet and smooth rum, infused with both wild and morello cherry and rich dark chocolate. The combination of both tart and bitter flavours make for a delicious rum. There are notes of caramel and orange peel, with ginger, cloves and cardamom to add a bit of spice. Good to know: Brewdog care about the environment and this distillery is the first carbon negative distillery in Scotland. So basically, they remove twice as much carbon as they emit into the air. More from Brewdog Perfect Serve Add a few ice cubes to a glass, pour over the rum, sip and enjoy. If you like your drinks a little longer, add 50ml to a glass of ice and add 150-200ml cola and add a slice of lemon. We like this with Fentiamns Curiosity Cola, but if you want to add a bit more cherry, then you can also mix with Fentimans Cherry Cola.

Lonewolf Bramble and Raspberry Gin 70cl

Lonewolf Bramble and Raspberry Gin 70cl

Lonewolf Bramble and Raspberry Gin Whilst they may be better known for their world class beer, Brewdog have also had great success since launching their range of spirits. With their gins they felt the majority of gins had become mainstream. In their words: "Dainty botanicals and floral nonsense are the norm, and they’re masking all kinds of sins." They start by creating their own Abstrakt Vodka which is used as the base spirit for their gins. They do this to ensure the quality of the spirit from start to finish. They then go big and bold with their flavours (using up to 5 times the amount of juniper typical in craft gins) crafting their gin in the world’s first triple bubble copper-pot still. This is done at their distillery in Aberdeenshire (in North Scotland).  Good to know: Every bottle of gin created is carbon neutral Their gins are created with big, bold flavours using their bespoke copper pot stills. Like the wolf from which they took inspiration with their gins, each is wildly different. Made in Scotland, they use a unique blend of botanicals to create some something uniquely different in each bottle.  In their Bramble and Raspberry gin, Lonewolf have created a gin which is positively bursting with notes of freshly harvested berries. This is truly a feast for the taste buds, with ripe and juicy fruit flavours dancing over your tongue. Whilst their signature Tuscan Juniper remains strong, the rich jammy raspberries perfectly blend creating something unique. More from Brewdog Perfect Serve For a delicious Gin & Tonic take a large glass and fill with ice. Add 50ml of the gin and pour over 150 - 200ml of your chosen tonic (we like Franklin & Sons Light Tonic for this). Stir gently and garnish with a wedge of lime and some raspberries (fresh or dried).

Brewdog 500 Cuts Coconut and Vanilla Rum 70cl

Brewdog 500 Cuts Coconut and Vanilla Rum Perhaps best known for their world class beers, Brewdog also have an acclaimed range of spirits (Gin, Rum and Vodka). Now they have re-launched their Rum, and this time it comes in a pack.... With four different Rums, there is sure to be one for you! Brewdog make their rums in Scotland. Brewdog 500 Cuts Coconut and Vanilla Rum is a sweet and smooth rum, infused with creamy toasted coconut and woody vanilla. We’d say that it is definitely more vanilla than coconut and as a darker rum, this works perfectly. If you’re looking for a taste to bring you a summer coconut vibe, then this probably isn’t for you, but enjoyable if you like just a hint of coconut. Good to know: Brewdog care about the environment and this distillery is the first carbon negative distillery in Scotland. So basically, they remove twice as much carbon as they emit into the air. More from Brewdog Perfect Serve Rum and cola is a classic drink partnership and we recommend mixing 50ml Brewdog 500 Cuts Coconut and Vanilla Rum with 150-200 ml Fever-Tree Distillers Cola, a cola that was made specifically for Rum (and Whisky).

JIN JIJI Darjeeling Gin JIN JIJI comes from the birthplace of the Gin & Tonic, and from the country that is home to some of the world's most diverse botanicals - India. Mintis Clementine Gin 70cl

Mintis Clementine Gin 70cl

Mintis Clementine Gin "Slow down, relax and let the better part of your day beGin!" - Mintis Gin Mintis believes that life is too short for an ordinary gin, so they set out with the desire to create something extraordinary. Pancalieri mint (recoginised the world over as being one of the world's best) grows local to the distillery. Along with hand-picked Italian Juniper, these are the core botanicals in the range of Mintis Gins - from which they also gets their name. The distillery itself (Torino Distillati) is located in Moncalieri in Italy, and is run by Carlo Vergnano, his wife Piera, and daughter Rita. A true family operation. Their master distiller, Denis Muni, has over 20 years experience in creating reknowned drinks. To ensure the aromatic and fresh flavours found in their gins are preserved, they utilise a vacuum stil. This uses a lower temperature to extract the essential oils. The unique flavours of juicy Italian Clementines, hand-picked Italian juniper, a hint of Pancalieri mint, and other select local botanicals combine to create the Clementine Gin This is truly a fruity sensation. Aromas of ripe Clementine greet you, along with minty freshness and a touch of juniper. Read more about Mintis Perfect Serve This adds a deliciously fruity citrus edge to a gin & tonic, and our go-to tonic for Mintis is The Artisan Drinks Co's London Tonic. For a delicious twist to a classic cocktail, try a Clementine Negroni. Mix together 30ml of gin, 30ml of Campari, and 30ml of Cinzano Rosso and serve in a rocks glass with large ice cubes. Garnish with a clementine wedge and a sprig of fresh mint.

Brooklyn Gin 70cl

Brooklyn Gin 70cl

Brooklyn Gin Whilst currently produced in New York state, the creators of Brooklyn Gin (Joe Santos & Emil Jättne) have their roots in Brooklyn (hence the name). Their new distillery (currently being built) will also be based in Brooklyn. A contemporary gin, it was created in 2010 to bring a fresh and vibrant flavour to your favourite cocktails. Their attention to detail (using fresh citrus, hand crushed juniper berries, and oldschool production methods) is what they believe creates "the freshest tasting gin". Their key botanicals are what make the difference. Their hand-crushed juniper berries release a combination of both sweet and savoury flavours. The fresh, hand-cut citrus (lemon, lime, orange and clementine) peels give fresh, vibrant citrus notes to the gin.  To create the gin itself they create the gin in small batches. The botanials are allowed to steep in the (corn) alcohol, which released the essential flavours. The distillation is then done in a Carl copper pot still. The copper reacts with the alcohol to help remove bitter notes, ensuring a smooth, complex gin. On the nose the citrus comes through early, with a combination of the orange and lime. These are joined with juniper, lavender and cardamom. However its the citrus which really makes itself known. Initially a hint of piney juniper comes through, along with sweet orage and lemon zest. The more bitter citrus notes come through mid-palate and is joined by hints of spice. In the background lime and pithy grapefruit play on the tongue. The cardamom comes through then as the gin leads to its finish, which has juniper again and lavender. Overal this is a particularly smooth gin, which is easy to drink leaving the mouth refreshed.  Perfect Serve A really smooth gin, this makes a delicious gin and tonic. Keep it simple to allow the flavours from the gin to shine. 50ml of gin to 150ml of your favourite neutral tonic (we liked Seventeen Tonic Water) works well. Garnish with a slice of lemon. This also works exceptionally well in the mix, with a Negroni, Gimlet or a Martini all working well. Or perhaps try a Brooklyn Buck Cocktail. In a cocktail shaker filled with ice add 60ml of Brooklyn Gin, 15ml of fresh lime juice, 15ml of fresh pineapple juice and 20ml of ginger syrup. Shake well and strain into a glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with a chunk of pineapple.

King's Hill Gin 70cl

King's Hill Gin 70cl

King's Hill Gin Made in the Pentland Hills, to the South-West of Edinburgh Scotland, King's Hill Gin is a small batch Scottish Gin. The name comes from a bet taken between King Robert the Bruce and Sir William 'The Crusader' Sinclair of Roslin. The bet was who could catch the elusive white Pentland Stag, and was won by Sinclair. However, in true knightly manner - he named the hillside in the King's honour. The exquisite bottle, which fades from blue to clear is a nod to the crystal clear water used in the creation of the gin, from the Glencorse area. The diamond effect also shows the royal inspiration.  This gin is a perfect combination of some of the more common gin botanicals, as well as those foraged locally around the distillery. This is definitely a classic gin though, and the piney juniper berries form a strong backbone to this gin. Foraged locally, heather, rosehips, gorse and elderflower are also used. These add a great depth and smoothness to the gin.  The attention to detail in its creation leads to a gin with a fresh, piney juniper hit to the nose. The palate is smooth, with a hint of sweetness. It's full bodied and aromatic, and gives a seriously clean gin which coats the mouth perfectly. The finish is long and dry. Perfect Serve We think this is definitely a gin which is best served long in a gin & tonic. It works well with both Fever-Tree Mediterranean and Elderflower tonics (we like Mediterranean the best). Take a large glass filled with ice, and add 50ml of the gin. Gently pout over 150 - 200ml of your chosen tonic, and stir gently. Garnish with a large slice of grapefruit.

Dik & Schil Palomacello 50cl

Dik & Schil Palomacello 50cl

Dik & Schil Palomacello What started as a university project for 3 students, has developed into Dik&Schil, a flourishing business with sustainability at its core. Their tasty drinks give a second life to the leftover coffee grounds and orange peels from the hospitality industry that would usually end up in the bin. ‘ ‘We want to show that sustainability can also be fun and that circularity can lead to fantastic products’’ – They have definitely achieved that. It’s not just waste orange peels that Dik&Schil give new life to. This delicious and limited edition liqueur is made using waste grapefruit peels and rhubarb remains, both of which are leftover during the making of the Paloma cocktail. Dik&Schil Palomacello is a tantalising taste experience with a mix of sweet and sour from the rhubarb, and bitterness from the grapefruit peel. The fruity aroma invites you to taste. On the palate, you will first be greeted by the sweetness of rhubarb, followed by zingy grapefruit – a flavour that builds in your mouth as you continue to enjoy your drink. For a refreshing drink, mix 50ml Palomacello with 150ml tonic water (we like to mix with Lobsters Tonic) and add a grapefruit slice to garnish. Palomacello is also delicious in a cocktail, and if you are a fan of Citrus, the Citrus party is for you. Add 30ml each of Palomacello, Orangecello (Dik&Schil), Limoncello (The Lemon Spirit is a great choice) and fresh lime juice into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into a chilled glass. Burn a sprig of rosemary and run it around the rim of the glass for a savoury twist and garnish with dried citrus fruit.

Blacks Citrus Smash Gin 70cl

Blacks Citrus Smash Gin 70cl

Blacks Citrus Smash Gin Located on the Wild Atlantic Way (a scenic route in the south of Ireland), The Blacks Brewery was started in 2013. A family run company, it is owned and operated by Sam & Maudeline Black (hence the name!). Their ethos was to create (initially) beers which weren't mass market. They wanted products with passion and personality. In 2015 they decided to expand and added a state-of-the-art distillery which allowed them to produce spirits as well. Their first was gin, which was followed in 2018 with the first Irish Rum, and then in 2020 with whiskey. The inspiration for their Irish Gins come from their location as well, the picturesque and rugged Wild Atlantic Way. They wanted to create a range of modern Irish gins, which had a Wild Atlantic twist, as well as a delicious infusion of citrus and spice. With their Citrus Smash edition, part of the expansion to their fantastic original gin, they have taken three different citrus fruits (Pink Grapefruit, Seville Oranges and Sicilian Lemons) - and 'smashed' them together to create something seriously refreshing. If you're a fan of fresh, citrus led gins then this is certainly a gin for you! More from Blacks Perfect Serve This makes a deliciously fresh Gin & Tonic. We like it with a neutral tonic such as Franklin & Sons - allowing the flavours in the gin to shine. However, it also works with their Lemon tonic - for when you really want a citrus flavour explosion! Take a large glass filled with ice and add 50ml of the gin. Gently pour over 150ml of your chosen tonic and stir gently. Garnish with a slice or two of your citrus fruit of choice. This also works well in the mix, adding delicious citrus notes to your cocktails. Try this in a Basil Smash - we were pleasantly surprised!
