Amuerte Coca Leaf Gin - Green Edition 70cl

Amuerte Coca Leaf Gin - Green Edition 70cl

Amuerte Coca Leaf Gin - Green Edition The history of the cocaine plant goes back to the Incan Empire, who used the plant in many ways, from fighting hunger, to curing various sicknesses. Whilst travelling, the founders of Amuerte witnesses a local tribe chewiong on cocaine leaves. Trying themselves, they discovered the unique flavour inherent there. Having a history dating back well over 100 years in the making of gin, they utilised the knowledge and experience to create  a gin with passion, One which contained the vivacious coca leaf flavour (which has a similar flavour to green tea) which they blended with other botanicals. With their Green edition (which is a strictly limited edition, and made for the summer), Amuerte have enhanced their signature coca leaf flavour with the Curuba fruit (also known as the banana passionfruit). Native to the Andean valleys (from Bolivia to Venezuela), the banana passionfruit has been cultivated since pre-colombian times by different cultures in the western South American continent. It looks similar to a young unripened banana, but when cut open it has a glistening orange pulp thats studded with numerous black seeds. The flavour is similar to passionfruit (it's from the same plant family), and has a tart and tangy flavour.  A delicious summery edition from Amuerte, this is really fresh with a slight acidity - and is packed full of tropical flavour! More from Amuerte Perfect Serve To fully enjoy the flavours found in this gin it's best enjoyed with a neutral tonic (and we recommend Double Dutch Indian Tonic for this one). Pour 50ml of the gin into a glass filled with ice, and add 100 - 150ml of the tonic. Garnish with the pulp of a fresh passionfruit - or if this isnt available, a slice of pineapple also works!

Adamus Dry Gin 70cl

Adamus Dry Gin Handcrafted in Portugal, this is a premium gin which has a delicate and fruity flavour. This fruity flavour really makes Adamus something special, and is unique in that it comes from a organically produced wine grape. These are sourced from a small region of Portugal called Bairrada. Adamus is the only gin which uses this grape as a botanical in its production. This along with 17 other organic botanicals, including hibiscus, juniper, orange, lemon, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom and salvia. The remaining botanicals are kept a secret, which adds to the mystery that makes Adamus deliciously special. Interesting to note.... 86 different botanicals were tried and tested before the final perfect blend was decided on, with only the best 18 natural botanicals being selected. A delicious gin, it is crystal clear in appearance, and has an aroma which is floral and lightly fruity. The flavour is delicate, yet complex. It has notes of lavender, honeysuckle and grapefruit, alond with a gently herbal twist. It finishes off slowly with a dry finish. The bottle itself showcases Portugual as well, with a white ceramic appearance and natural cork. A great addition to your gin collection as this is premium in look as well as in taste. More from Adamus Perfect Serve For a Grape & Ginger Adamus Gin Tonic, fill a copa-glass with ice, and stir to cool the glass. Pour out excess water and then add 50ml of gin. Zacapa Edición Negra Rum 70cl

Zacapa Edición Negra Rum 70cl

Zacapa Edición Negra Rum: Smoky and Intense Introduction Zacapa rum is named after the city of Zacapa in Guatemala, and was created to commemorate the 100th anniversary celebration of its foundation. Coming from the Aztec Nahuatl language, the name Zacapa means “on the river of grass. Proudly made in Guatemala, Zacapa Edición Negra Rum is a blend of rums aged between 6-23 years. They age the rum using casks that previously held robust American whiskies and fine wines, giving this delicious rum a complex and balanced sip. The Process Zacapa Rum is made using the first press of virgin sugar cane, instead of molasses (which is more common). By using sugar cane, it makes the rum sweeter and smoother. The yeast used during the fermentation process is derived from pineapples, which brings out incredible aromas and flavours, and through the distillation process the aroma and flavour charater and profiles are defind for each of the Zacapa Rums. The Rum Journey Master Blender, Lorena Vásquez carefully selects a range of cask types and styles for each rum to capture specific flavours and textures, and that will give the perfect colour. Zacapa Edición Negra Rum is aged using double charred American Oak casks. This creates a rich, dark rum with a smoky intensity. Aged Above The Clouds Zacapa Rum is aged 2,300 metres above sea level, allowing the rum to develop a deeper aroma and rich layeres of flavour. Their master blender, Lorena Vásquez explains that “Zacapa is aged at high altitude where the temperature is lower. The lower temperature also directly influences the oxygen levels which are lower as well, and this lower oxygen level aids in a slower aging process. The slower aging, allows for more time for the aromas and flavours to combine.” Tasting Notes Aroma: On the nose you there are caramelized fruits, plums and raisins with smooth smoky notes Taste: On the palate, there is a delicious woodiness, with spicy and smoky notes, combined with the balance of chocolate and dried fruit. Finish: It has a bold yet smooth persistent finish.  More from Zacapa Perfect Serve Zacapa Edición Negra Rum is best served neat, or on the rocks. Tënu Gin - Le Bon Tikka Barrel Aged Gin 50cl

Tënu Gin - Le Bon Tikka Barrel Aged Gin 50cl

Tënu Gin - Le Bon Tikka Barrel Aged Gin Founded in 2014, Tenu Spirits was created by Chef Antto Melasniemi and Artist Klaus Haapaniemi. They had a shared desire to explore, be excited and ensure quality drinks - and so they decided to create their own drinks brand. The original Tënu Gin was created for a pop-up restaurant in London. After proving hugely succesful, they decided to launch it into the wider market. Like a lot of great things, the birth of Le Bon Tikka gin started by accident. During the creation of a test batches of Tënu Gin, Bilberries were substituted for the usual lingonberries. Initially this was too heavy and not found to be acceptable on the palate. However, it did bear some promise - so it was decided to allow it to age in new oak barrels for a period of 6 months. They tried a number of different barrels, and the results varied. Some too vanilla, some far too woody. However, upon blended they found a perfect mix - and Le Bon Tikka was born! Only 1800 bottles of this have been created - so a definite limited edition! Fun fact: Tikka means woodpecker in Finnish - hence the name! It can also be found on the label along with the bilberries. Whilst they keep the full list of botanicals a secret, it is know to include juniper berries, bilberries (only wild, handpicked Finnish ones), wild rose petals (sourced from the Finnish archipelago), orris root, coriander seeds and lemon peel. With a stronger abv this is a gin which is truly packed full of flavour. There is a lot of woody juniper in this, which is joined by oaky spice and hints of sweet stem ginger. A sweet caramel also comes through which evolves in the mouth to floral lavender, warm vanilla and interestingly a clean citrus finish. More from Tënu Spirits Perfect Serve According to the creators, Le Bon Tikka can be enjoyed neat or with ice. However, if you're not so keen on such strong spirits enjoyed neat it also makes an absolutely delicious gin & tonic. Try this with Thomas Henry Tonic Water. Take a large glass filled with ice and add 50ml of the gin. Gently pour over 150ml of the tonic and stir gently. Garnish with a slice of lemon.

44°N Gin 50cl

44°N Gin 50cl

44°N Gin Created to capture the "luminous depth of the sea and the windswept aromas of the Mediterranean in every drop", this is an ultra premium French gin. Named after the geographic location of its producer Comte de Grasse (literally Count of Grasse), it is situated just north of Cannes and west of Nice - in the Cote d’Azur, Southern France They utilise as many locally sourced botanicals as possible, Bitter Orange, Cade, Mimosa, Centifolia and Immortelle to ensure they capture the spirit of the area.  The flavour remains true to its mediterranean roots as well, with a floral body from hints of Grasse’s Rose Centifolia and bright jasmine. There is a touch of jam like sweetness through the bitter orange which is expertly countered with a herbaceous punch of Angelica and Samphire. A little warmth from a touch of pepper greets you throughour the drink. This doesn't overpower though, rather enhacing the other botanicals bringing them to life. The finish benefits deliciously from Orris and honey which ensure a sweet yet musky long-lasting effect on the tongue. These blend perfectly with the floral and citrus notes, all mingling perfectly together. Perfect Serve With a multitude of flavours within the drink, this works perfectly with a neutral tonic like Fever-Tree Indian Tonic. However, this also works particularly well with Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic, which adds a little more sweetness to the gin and tonic. With either tonic, we recommend 50ml of gin to 100 - 150ml of the tonic. With this gin, just plenty of ice and a large glass is needed. No garnish necessary as the gin really speaks for itself!
