Glenfiddich Single Malt 12Y Scotch Whisky 1L

Glenfiddich Single Malt 12Y Scotch Whisky 1L

Glenfiddich Single Malt 12Y Scotch Whisky Having been founded in 1886 by William Grant, the first whisky ran from their stills on Christmas Day in 1887. The name actually name comes from the location of the distillery, situated in the glen of the river Fiddich. In scots gaelic Glenfiddich means 'valley of the deer', hence the stag found on the bottles. This whisky has been produced since 2008 and is awarded the world over. It's also the most awarded at the IWSC and claims the distinction of being the world's best-selling single-malt whisky. It's known for both its freshness and distinctive fruitiness, both a result of its production methods. The freshness comes from the highland spring water (used since 1887), and the fruitiness form the high cut point which was insisted on by William Grant himself.  The maturation occurs in both american oak, and european oak sherry casks for at least 12 years. Mellowed in oak marrying tuns to ensure a sweet, yet subtle oak flavour.  On the nose the renowned fresh and fruity aroma comes through with a hint of pear. The taste has fruity notes with a characteristic sweetness. These develop into a creamy butterscotch, delicious malt notes and subtle oak flavours. The finish rounds out long and smooth, finishing deliciously mellow. Read more about Glenfiddich Perfect Serve Whisky is best enjoyed as you like it! With Glenfiddich this is no different. We recommend trying with a few drops of water, or perhaps a single cube of ice. However, as with any quality dram, room temperature and savoured slowly also works exceptionally well.

Caorunn Gin 1L

Caorunn Gin 1L

Caorunn Gin Carefully handcrafted in the Scottish Highlands, Caorunn expertly infuses five locally foraged botanicals, along with six traditional gin botanicals. The result is something quite superb.  It is an artisanal gin, created in small batches, beautifully mixing the rugged charm of Speyside with the urban sophistication of modern Scotland. The locally forgaed botanicals give the gin a sense of location. These are rowan berry which gives a piquant flavour - and is the soul of the gin; bog myrtle giving a soft sweet aroma; heather, which is synonymous with Scotland, gives a subtle undertone to the aroma, and gives a delicate honey sweetness; Coul Blush apple, which adds further clean and crisp sweetness and lastly dandelion leaf which lends a touch of sharpness. Joining these are the more traditional botanicals of juniper, coriander seed, orange and lemon peel, angelica root and cassia bark It's a classic London Dry gin, and has an aroma which is fresh, lightly floral, slightly citrus, with a  hint of spice. Overall its aromatic and entices you into the drink. The taste is clean and crisp. A light and delicate sweetness coming through. It's full bodied and very aromatic. The blend of local and traditional botanicals leaves an invigorating, long lasting, crisp and slightly drying finish which is extremely refreshing. Interesting fact.... Caorunn, (pronounced ‘ka-roon'), is the Gaelic word for Rowan Berry – a Celtic botanical that forms the very soul of this gin. Read more about Caorunn Perfect Serve The flavours in this gin deserve to be noticed, and enjoyed, so we recommend a neutral tonic such as Fever-Tree Indian Tonic Water. Pour 50ml of the gin and 150ml of the tonic in a glass over ice, stire gently and garnish with red apple slices to compliment the crisp taste of the gin.

Finlandia Nordic Berries Vodka 1L

Grant's Triple Wood Whisky 1L

Grant's Triple Wood Whisky 1L

Grant's Triple Wood Whisky It was in 1887 that William Grant opened his distillery, and it was very much a family affair.... he was helped by his seven sons and two daughters. In fact, to this day, (six generations from when it started), Grant's is still family owned, and stays true to the founders original (and closely guarded) recipe. Three's play a big part in Grant's Whisky, from the three sided bottle, to their three ingredients' of Scottish water, Air and Barley. However it's their Triple Wood, held in their name and process which makes them quite different. They mature their whisky in three different types of barrels; Virgin Oak (providing a robust spiciness), American Oak (giving a smooth vanilla flavour) and Bourbon refill (which gives a brown sugar sweetness, and a smooth mellow taste). Once matured, these are blended to give the Grant's Triple Wood Whisky which is known and loved the world over. On the nose this is a whisky with a complex aroma, blending ripe pear and delicious summer fruits. On the palate this has a vanilla sweetness, which is perfectly balanced with notes of malt, and light florals. The finish is pleasantly long, with a balanced palate of sweet and smoky. Read more about Grant's Perfect Serve This works exceptionally well when balanced with a twist of orang peel. This can be enjoyed simply over ice, with 50ml of whisky, plenty of ice and the orange peel, or with cola. Take a highball glass filled with ice, add 50ml of whisky, and fill the glass with 150ml of cola. Again, garnish with a twist of orang peel.

Doragrossa Selezioni Vermouth Rosso 1L

Doragrossa Selezioni Vermouth Rosso 1L

Doragrossa Selezioni Vermouth Rosso Turin was once known as the capital of Liqueurs. It's location, surrounded by fertile land, rich in herbs, flowers and fruits, and its closeness to the port of Genoa where marketplaces were overflowing with exotic spices meant that many artisans gathered in the Contrada (district or quarter) Dora Gross and developed increasingly refined techniques and trades. It's this nod to history, which is reflected in their name, and the botanicals they use which makes Doragrossa unique. Their Selezioni range of vermouth, bitter and gin were created to enable the creation of the most popular Italian drinks. These drinks are made for mixing, but flavourful enough to also be enjoyed neat. At the end of the 18th Century fortified wines (Vermouths) were growing in popularity around the world. It was later on that the Rosso versions became popular. This has an enticing aroma of absinthe, and citrus fruits. The palate is complex, with honts of ginger, cinnamon, angelica and orange. These join with bitterness from chamomile, gentian, rhubarb and cinchiona. It is rounded out with sweet notes of vanilla.  More from Doragrossa Perfect Serve Whilst this is easily enjoyed as an aperitif or digestif - we love this in an Italian Negroni (it was made for mixing after all!). Take a rocks glass and add a few cubes of ice. Add 25ml of Doragrossa Gin, 25ml of Doragrossa Bitter and 25ml of Doragrossa Sweet Vermouth. Gently stir, and garnish with a slice or two of orange. Delicious!
