Zuidam Dutch Courage Dry Gin 1L

The Famous Grouse Whisky 1L

Tanqueray No. Ten Gin 1L

Tanqueray No. Ten Gin 1L

Tanqueray No. Ten Gin It may be hard to imagine improving on the original Tanqueray, but this gin does just that. Introduced to the world in 2000 it was developed with an extreme passion for quality, and attention to detail which resulted in a gin which, we have to admit, is an exquisite addition to any bar, or drinks cupboard. Tanqueray No. Ten utilises the classic botanicals from Tanqueray (Juniper, Coriander, Angelica root and Licorice), but instead of a double-distillation process, a four times distillation process is used. It is made in small batches to ensure quality in each batch. Fresh citrus flavours from limes, orange and pink grapefruit are then added, along with chamomile flowers to "Tiny Ten" (the still which gives the gin its name), which enhances this premium gin even further. The end result is a gin which is enjoyed the world over by bartenders, restauranteurs, and gin connoissseurs in general. Delightful, delicious, and exquisite citrus burts are to be found in every sip. It takes the already great Tanqueray to a new level. The citrus giving new heights of refreshment, and the chamomile adding a gentle floral edge to the aroma. We can certainly see why this is so well thought of, and feel its a must add to any gin shelf. It's worthy of note that this is the only gin to have been inducted in the San Francisco World Spirits competition hall of fame! Well deserved. Read more about Tanqueray Perfect Serve This is definitely a gin which can be enjoyed simply, as a delicious gin and tonic. Add a neutral tonic (such as Fentimans Indian Tonic), lots of ice and a wedge of pink grapefruit. To enhance the citrus flavours that little bit more, try adding Fentimans Valencian Orange Tonic, which brings a zestiness to the drink from the orange oils in the tonic. For a cocktail, this makes an absolutely amazing Martini. Stir (not shake!) 50ml of gin with 10ml of Martini Extra Dry Vermouth, and strain into a chilled Martini glass. Garnish with a twist of lemon. Cheers!

It's location, surrounded by fertile land, rich in herbs, flowers and fruits, and its closeness to the port of Genoa where marketplaces were overflowing with exotic spices meant that many artisans gathered in the Contrada (district or quarter) Dora Gross and developed increasingly refined techniques and trades. It's this nod to history, which is reflected in their name, and the botanicals they use which makes Doragrossa unique. Their Selezioni range of vermouth, bitter and gin were created to enable the creation of the most popular Italian drinks. These drinks are made for mixing, but flavourful enough to also be enjoyed neat. At the end of the 18th Century fortified wines (Vermouths) were growing in popularity around the world. It was later on that the Rosso versions became popular. This has an enticing aroma of absinthe, and citrus fruits. The palate is complex, with honts of ginger, cinnamon, angelica and orange. These join with bitterness from chamomile, gentian, rhubarb and cinchiona. It is rounded out with sweet notes of vanilla.  More from Doragrossa Perfect Serve Whilst this is easily enjoyed as an aperitif or digestif - we love this in an Italian Negroni (it was made for mixing after all!). Take a rocks glass and add a few cubes of ice. Add 25ml of Doragrossa Gin, 25ml of Doragrossa Bitter and 25ml of Doragrossa Sweet Vermouth. Gently stir, and garnish with a slice or two of orange. Delicious!

Martin Miller's Gin 1L

Martin Miller's Gin 1L

Martin Miller's Gin This is a gin which is the creation of three friends (David Bromige, Andreas Versteegh and Martin Miller). Martin Miller wanted a gin which would enliven a category which he felt to be neglected. The through came in 1998, and the gin was launched in 1999. A modern take on a classic dry gin, Martin Miller's uses the best traditions of English distillers. However, they add their own twist to it. They wanted a gin that ‘tasted of gin’ in the words of Martin Miller. This is a pot distilled gin, which uses two separate distillations of earthy and citrus based botanicals. This imparts a perfect balance between citrus and juniper. The botanicals used with the gin are juniper, angelica, dried lemon peel, cassia, coriander seeds, dried lime peel, liquorice root, nutmeg, bitter orange peel and florentine iris. Once the distillation of these botanicals is complete, the distillate is shipped to Iceland. It is here that it is blended to strength using Icelandic spring water. This water is renowned for its purity, resulting in no artificial demineralisation needed which further enhances the gentle bouquet and trademark sensation. The result of the whole process is a gin which is smooth and citrus. It has an excellent balance where, like a "classic gin" juniper is dominant. Yet it has a citrus freshness which shines through. A gin that "tastes of gin" as the distiller says. Overall, Martin Miller's gin has a junipery pine aroma, which merges perfectly with fresh lemon peel. In the background theres a delicate pepperiness. On the palate there is a very delicate liquorice sweetness, which works perfectly with the citrus which is forward on the taste, along with gentle spice notes. It's soft and delicate, and extremely smooth in the mouth. The finish is warming, very smooth, with lemon lingering. In the words of the distiller: "Unconventional English Distillation of the finest botanicals, blended with the purest Icelandic water. Is it Madness or Genius?" - only you can tell!Read more about Martin Miller's Perfect Serve The premise behind this gin is "gin as it should be", so a neutral tonic works best - and we recommend Seventeen Tonic Water. In a large glass filled with lots of ice pour 50ml of the gin and top up with 150-200ml of tonic. Garnish with a quartered strawberry.

Grant's Triple Wood Whisky 1L

Grant's Triple Wood Whisky 1L

Grant's Triple Wood Whisky It was in 1887 that William Grant opened his distillery, and it was very much a family affair.... he was helped by his seven sons and two daughters. In fact, to this day, (six generations from when it started), Grant's is still family owned, and stays true to the founders original (and closely guarded) recipe. Three's play a big part in Grant's Whisky, from the three sided bottle, to their three ingredients' of Scottish water, Air and Barley. However it's their Triple Wood, held in their name and process which makes them quite different. They mature their whisky in three different types of barrels; Virgin Oak (providing a robust spiciness), American Oak (giving a smooth vanilla flavour) and Bourbon refill (which gives a brown sugar sweetness, and a smooth mellow taste). Once matured, these are blended to give the Grant's Triple Wood Whisky which is known and loved the world over. On the nose this is a whisky with a complex aroma, blending ripe pear and delicious summer fruits. On the palate this has a vanilla sweetness, which is perfectly balanced with notes of malt, and light florals. The finish is pleasantly long, with a balanced palate of sweet and smoky. Read more about Grant's Perfect Serve This works exceptionally well when balanced with a twist of orang peel. This can be enjoyed simply over ice, with 50ml of whisky, plenty of ice and the orange peel, or with cola. Take a highball glass filled with ice, add 50ml of whisky, and fill the glass with 150ml of cola. Again, garnish with a twist of orang peel.
