Zuidam Dutch Courage Old Tom's Gin 70cl

Zuidam Dutch Courage Dry Gin 1L

McQueen & The Violet Fog Gin 70cl

McQueen & The Violet Fog Gin 70cl

McQueen & the Violet Fog Gin Created in Brazil, in the hills of Jundiaí to be exact, McQueen & the Violet Fog gin is produced. This is a gin which, the producers say, is far from simple. One where they have "flipped the script". The Jundiaí area is well known for making rum, but not so much for gin. However this gin aims to change that. Similar to rum they use a high-proof sugar cane base for the gin, but the similarities stop there. They infuse a total of 21 botanicals into the alcohol base. Sticking to tradition, notes of juniper, citrus, fennel seeds and orris root are used, but added to this can be found Indian basil leaves, rosemary from Portugal, Calamansi from the South Pacific, Star Anise from Vietnam, and locally grown Acai berries. In addition, Lemongrass, pomelo and jasmine flowers are also included. This creates a deliciously different gin, which is complex yet delicate on the flavours. On the nose this gin is complex, with a number of nuanced aromas greeting you. Earthy and floral notes are joined with hints of the forest floor. These are joined with floral notes of magnolia, pine needles, and a hint of bitter bark.  The flavour profile is as intruiging as the aromas. It's bright at the beginning, with crisp notes of citrus and apple along with a kick from rosemary. The fruity notes merge into earthy juniper notes on the mid palate, and then blend further into savoury herbaceous notes towards the end. Fun Fact: The name itself sounds mysterious.... it's a fragment of poem by Instagram poet Atticus about a fictional rock concert. Perfect Serve This is a delicious gin, which whilst delightfully complex has a delicious delicacy about it. As such, it's easily enjoyed sipped neat over ice. However by adding a good neutral tonic, such as Fentimans Connoiseurs Tonic, the drink is enlivened and more flavours come to notice. Take a large glass filled with ice and add 50ml of the gin. Gently pour over 150 - 200ml of your chosen tonic and stir gently. Garnish with a simple sprig of rosemary.

The House of Botanicals Maple Old Tom Gin 70cl

The House of Botanicals Maple Old Tom Gin 70cl

The House of Botanicals Maple Old Tom Gin The House of Botanicals was founded in 2009 in the centre of Aberdeen in North East Scotland. It's a certified B Corp™ and is owned and operated by a small husband and wife team of Adam & Steffie Elan-Elmegirab. They use a combination of traditional and modern production techniques, as well as British grain spirit as the alcoholic base of their drinks. They then source botanicals from across the globe, and produce entirely with natural ingredients - refraining from using artificial flavours, preservatives or colours. Fun Fact: The coat of Arms on the bottles is a homage to both the Aberdeen and London City Coats of Arms. The Black panther adds a reference to the hip-hop music listened to by the team on most days - as well as the original Old Tom branding which would commonly feature a Black Cat. As part of their exploration of global flavours, in July 2018 The House of Botanicals launched their Maple Old Tom. This was initially due to be only a limited edition, with just 1112 bottles produced - and was introduced at the Aberdeen Gin Fest. Due to its popularity, it was relaunched in March 2019 - becoming a permanent addition to their range. Whilst new to the House of Botanicals range, the production of Maple Gin goes back over 100 years. It was originally created by the Buffalo Distilling Company of New York between 1893 and 1918 (prior to the temperance movement and then prohibition. For their edition, the House of Botanicals use the same base as their Classic Old Tom. However they then lightly sweeten it with maple syrup (less than 25g per litre, so as not to 'over-sweeten'). The result is a delicious straw coloured gin. The nose has juniper and bright citrus notes - joined by piney juniper. On the palate there is a buttery mouthfeel, with bright and fresh piney juniper. This is perfectly balanced with hints of sweet maple, fudge, warm orange citrus, vanilla, and chamomile. The finish is long, clean and invigorating with a hint of butterscotch More from The House of Botanicals Perfect Serve This is a deliciously versatile Old Tom, which works well with a simple mixer (such as tonic water, ginger ale and even grapefruit soda), but also in cocktails. Try in a Perfect Lady, Gin Basil Smash, Jasmine, Gibson, Fiddy-Fiddy or Maple Buck.

Copper in the Clouds Marmalade Gin 70cl

Copper in the Clouds Marmalade Gin 70cl

Copper in the Clouds Marmalade Gin Created in 'The Distillery at Dowsett's Farm', Copper in the Clouds gin is a small company creating premium gin's in Hertfordshire. Historically, Hertfordshire (a county just to the north of London) was the hunting ground of the British Royal family, and is still relatively rural with numerous forests. They create their gins using locally sourced premium wheat spirit. Where possible, they use locally grown and sourced botanicals, and have even started growing some of their own botanicals on the farm in their recently created botanical garden. This attention to detail ensures a quality, and unique range of gins which they can rightfully be proud of! Each of their bottles is a piece of art itself. With this gin, they capture a marmalade cat (ginger) lying on a slice of bread peeling oranges - along with a rabbit and a jar of marmalade. This isn't just called a Marmalade gin due to the citrus uses in its creation, they actually use real marmalade! This is created using by the team at the distillery themselves. They use pink grapefruits, seville oranges and the peel from blood oranges in it's creation. This gives the gin a rich flavour, with an orange colour to it. This is entirely natural, and comes from the marmalade itself. As well as the marmalade, the other botanicals include juniper berries, coriander seed, licorice and angelica root, as well as more citrus flavours from orange and lemon peel. As you would expect, the flavour and aroma is sweet and zesty, exactly as you would expect from marmalade! More from Copper in the Clouds Perfect Serve As this is already a sweeter gin, we recommend enjoying with a lighter tonic. Fentimans Naturally Light Tonic works really well. However, if you want to increase the citrus flavours, try using their Valencian Orange Tonic. Take a large glass filled with ice and add 50ml of the gin. Gently pour over 150 - 200ml of your chosen tonic and stir gently. Garnish with a fresh orange wheel. It also works well in a spritz, when mixed with soda water, or even Prosecco. Truly versatile, it also adds an enticing edge to cocktails.

The Macallan A Night on Earth 2023 Whisky 70cl

The Macallan A Night on Earth 2023 Whisky Please note: This is a limited edition item, so when its gone, its gone! Founded in 1824 (making it nearly 200 years old) The Macallan distillery is located in Craigellachie, Moray in Scotland. The Macallen is classed as the second or third best-selling single malt scotch (behind Glenfiddich, and perhaps Glenlivet). One of their limited editions, A Night on Earth is an annual release and is a unique expression which is created by carefully balancing exceptional first-fill American ex-bourbon barrels, along with European and American sherry-seasoned oak casks. Its created to celebrate the special time of New Year. A time when people journey to be together, to acknowledge the passing of the old year, and welcome in the new. This edition is created in collaboration with the acclaimed Chinese artist, Nini Sum. It comes with innovative multi-layered packaging that provides an exceptional unboxing experience - perfect as a special gift for a whisky lover, or just as exquisite for the whisky connoisseur to buy for themselves. The artwork on the box ties together the whisky's notes and Nini's cherished New Year memories. Capturing the burst of fireworks, the enticing aromas of toasted oak emanating from rice popcorn vendors on the brightly decorated streets of her town, the milk candy in her pockets and the sweet fragrance of steamed rice pudding beckoning her home. The whisky also has a nuttiness, which is an echo of the sunflower seeds Nini’s family shared as they laughed and talked about their wishes for the new year. The whisky itself has a sunrise golden colour to it, which releases a luscious aroma of toasted oak, steamed rice and oak pudding which is joined by citrus, vanilla and oat biscuits. The palate opens up with a burst of effervescent citrus fruits (lemon and lime) which is joined with flavours likened to a sweet creamy vanilla sponge and toasted coconut.  This leads to a medium finish, which leaves sweet, toasted oak and vanilla on the tastebuds. More from The Macallan Perfect Serve A truly exquisite whisky, we loved this with a small splash of water. However, as with all whisky - enjoy as you will!

This leads into a floral and tart raspberry finish, which is long and fragrant More from The House of Botanicals Perfect Serve This is a deliciously versatile Old Tom, which works well with a simple mixer (such as tonic water, or ginger ale), but also in cocktails.
