Torment: Tides of Numenera is an extremely extensive RPG game , and at the same time the spiritual heir to the iconic Planescape: Torment . In these times, most of the inhabitants of our planet live on a civilization level corresponding to the late Middle Ages, but at the same time they are surrounded by mysterious remnants of ancient, much more advanced cultures. Some of these relics of the past (the title numener) are useful, while others pose a deadly threat, but the vast majority seem to have no practical application. During your adventures, you can fight with swords as well as meet people with cyber implants, nanobot clouds, etc.GameplayAt the foundations of Tides of Numenera is a gameplay model similar to what we know from such titles as Baldur's Gate , Pillars of Eternity or the aforementioned Planescape: Torment- the player controls up to four characters in the team, exploring locations, conducting dialogues (enriched with a rich descriptive layer, as in the original), completing tasks, gaining experience points, thanks to which skills and stats of the heroes are developed, etc. The main differences are that combat (called crisis here) is turn-based, and skill tests are not automatic. In addition to the abilities that increase our chances, we can also invest a selected sum of effort points in each of them, thanks to which we can get even 100% certainty of success - but, of course, the pool of these points is limited.
