Crusader Kings II: Jade Dragon is an add-on for the PC platform to the popular strategy from 2012. This is a non-standalone expansion, which means that it requires the basic version of Crusader Kings II to work. Both productions were developed by Paradox Developments studio.  Gameplay According to the DLC title, it introduces China to the game, but not as a nation that we can personally control. The Middle Kingdom is outside the playable map, but its influence on political games, especially in India and Transoksani, is very large and has the potential to make our lives much easier or more difficult. Thanks to Crusader Kings II: Jade Dragon released on PC, players gain access to a separate window describing the status and desires of the Chinese emperor, which makes it easier for us to fulfill the wishes of this ruler, if necessary. It is also possible to become his vassal, which brings many benefits, but also threats, if we do not manage to become independent from him before he loses influence. As befits Crusader Kings II, specific characters play a key role. Princes and adventurers regularly leave China in search of fame and riches in other countries. We can also take advantage of the Silk Road, and the profits obtained from it are directly dependent on the stability of the Middle Kingdom. The DLC also introduces Chinese artifacts, a lot of new character portraits and eight additional casus belli to the game.

Characters can join, among others to orders, forbidden cults and heretical Gnostic movements. Powered by new members, organizations grow in strength, gaining more and more influence and increasing the prestige of the people at their head. The existence of these groups opens up additional types of actions for characters and leads them to new paths of events. Joining religious orders does not require a habit, as these organizations also offer positions for lay people. Membership provides bonuses to piety, but also results in certain obligations. Joining secret cults is much more risky, but has the potential to be highly profitable. Within each group, characters get the ability to climb the ranks of the organization, which allows them to unlock new skills and activate new chains of events. In addition, the DLC has an option to organize hunting for heretics, allowing you to send a chaplain on a mission to destroy groups that undermine our authority and the Church. The expansion also introduces new types of assassins and allows you to finance archaeological expeditions in search of treasures and holy relics.
