Apollo Series 65 Optical Smoke Detector with Flashing LED and Magnetic Test Switch 55000-315APO

Apollo Series 65 Optical Smoke Detector with Flashing LED and Magnetic Test Switch 55000-315APO

Apollo Series 65 Optical Smoke Detector with Flashing LED and Magnetic Test Switch 55000-315APOThe Series 65 Optical Smoke Detector incorporates a pulsing LED located within the housing of the detector. The external detector moulding is identical to that of the ionisation detector and has an indicator LED which is clear in quiescent state but produces a red light in alarm.OperationThe Series 65 Optical Smoke Detector has a moulded self-extinguishing white polycarbonate case with wind resistant smoke inlets. Nickel-plated stainless-steel wiper contacts connect the detector to the base. Inside the case a printed circuit board has the optical system mounted on one side and the signal processing electronics on the other. The sensing chamber is a black moulding configured as a labyrinth which prevents penetration of ambient light. The labyrinth has a fine gauze insect-resistant cover. The chamber houses an infrared light emitting diode LED and a photo-diode which has an integral visible-light filter as extra protection against ambient light. Every three seconds the LED emits a burst of collimated light modulated at 4kHz. In clear air light from the LED does not fall directly on the diode because the LED is positioned at an obtuse angle to the diode. When smoke enters the chamber a fraction of the collimated light is scattered onto the photo-diode. If the resulting signal from the photo-diode is above a pre-set threshold the LED emits two more bursts of light this time at two-second intervals. If light is scattered onto the photo-diode by both these pulses due to the presence of smoke the detector signals an alarm state by switching the alarm latch on increasing the current drawn from the supply from about 40A to a maximum of 75mA. This fall in the impedance of the detector is recognised by the control panel as an alarm signal. The alarm current also illuminates the detector integral LED. A remote indicator connected between the L1 IN terminal and the R terminal will have a voltage equal to the supply voltage less 1 volt across it and so will illuminate. To ensure correct operation of the detector the control panel must be arranged to supply a maximum of 33 Volts dc and a minimum of 9 Volts dc in normal operation. The supply may fall to 6 Volts dc in alarm conditions if a supply current of at least 10mA is available at this voltage. To ensure effective illumination of the integral LED and any remote indicator the supply to the detector should exceed 12 Volts. To restore the detector to quiescent condition it is necessary to expel any smoke and interrupt the electrical supply to the detector for a minimum of one second.Key FeaturesResponds well to slow-burning smouldering firesWell-suited to bedrooms and escape routesUnaffected by wind or atmospheric pressureFlashing LED and magnet operated test switch option

Apollo XP95 Intelligent Mounting Base 45681-210APO

Apollo XP95 Mounting Base - 45681-210APOAll detectors in the Discovery range fit the IntelligentMounting Base. The Mounting Base is a low insertion force base with stainless steel contacts for the detector terminals. XPERT cards are supplied with all bases.Universal address cards known as XPERT cards are supplied with all bases. Consult the coding guide in the installation instructions to determine which pips are to be removed from the card to give the correct address.Lay the card on a flat surface pips down insert a screwdriver into the slot on the reverse of the pip to be removed and give a firm twist. When the card is coded insert it into the slot in the side of the appropriate base making sure that the card locks itself into place. As a detector is inserted into the base the remaining pips operate the address buttons on the detector and the detector electronics reads the address.OperatingAn earth connection is not required for either safety or correct operation of detectors. The ground earth terminal is isolated and is provided for tidy termination of grounded conductors or cable screens and to maintain earth continuity where necessary. All terminals are marked according to their function.Bases have a wide interior diameter for ease of access to cables and terminals and there are two slots for fixing screws. The slots enable two fixing screws to be located at a spacing of 51mm to 69mm. Detectors fit into bases one way only without snagging and require clockwise rotation without push force to be plugged in.Key Features XPERT AddressingOne way fit of detectorLocking feature to prevent unauthorised detector removal

Apollo Soteria XPERT 8 Intelligent Mounting Base SA5000-200APO

Apollo Soteria XPERT 8 Intelligent Mounting Base SA5000-200APOAll detectors in the Soteria XP95 and Discovery range fit into the XPERT 8 Intelligent Mounting Base. The base has a wide interior diameter for ease of access to cables and terminals. The E-Z Fit feature allows you to fit the base screws place the XPERT 8 Intelligent Mounting Base over the screws slide it into place and tighten the screws. The detector requires a clockwise rotation into the base for fitting. Additionally the detector can be locked into the base for increased security by a grub-screw using a 1.5mm hexagonal driver. The XPERT 8 card part number 38532-064 supplied with the base has pre-punched pips to remove to set the address. Refer to the Coding Guide for details on how to set the address.Backwards CompatibilitySoteria detectors have been designed to operate on XP95 and Discovery loops. This allows for Soteria detectors and bases to operate on existing systems and for Soteria detectors to operate on XP95 and Discovery bases XPERT 7 Intelligent Mounting Base. It should be noted that not all features of Soteria will be available when used with XP95 or Discovery fire control panels. If Soteria detectors are used with XP95 fire control panels incorporating drift compensation algorithms these must be disabled when communicating with Soteria devices. When Soteria detectors are used with an XPERT 7 Intelligent Mounting Base on a CoreProtocol system Soteria devices will have a 128 address offset due to only 7 address pips being available on the XPERT 7 card. For example an XPERT 7 card set at 32 will address as 160 on CoreProtocol with Soteria detectors.Key FeaturesCompatibility with Soteria XP95 and Discovery detectorsIsolated and Non-isolated devices supportedIsolated wiper - maintains loop connectivity during temporary removal of devicesXPERT 8 card for Core-ProtocolE-Z Fit allows for simple mounting of the detector base after wiringKeyed to accept only addressable devicesBase mark allows for LED detector alignmentPlease Note XPERT 8 card increase the address capacity to 254 when using Soteria detector and Core-Protocol enabled fire control panel.

Please note This product is currently on an extended leadtime. We estimate that the product will be available with full approvals from February 2025. For further information please read the manufacturerslatest technical bulletin.Apollo XP95 I.S. Heat Detector 55000-440APOThe XP95 IS Heat Detector is distinguishable from XP95 IS smoke detectors by its low air-flow resistance case which allows good contact between the sensing thermistor and the surrounding air. The device monitors temperature by using a single thermistor network which provides a voltage output proportional to the external air temperature. The voltage signal is processed and transmitted to the control equipment in the same way as in the case of the ionisation smoke detector. Full details of the principles of operation and the electrical description are published in the XP95 Engineering Product Guide. XP95 IS detectors have the same operating characteristics as the standard versions.Brand InformationXP95 Intrinsically Safe IS detectors are a development of the well-established analogue addressable XP95 range from Apollo. XP95 IS detectors feature all the benefits of the standard range but are developed specifically for use in hazardous areas. The addresses of XP95 IS detectors are set by means of the patented XPERT card.Key FeaturesRate of rise and fixed temperature alarm point.Single thermistor technology.Transient voltage protection.Resettable operation.Lockable security fitting. Please Note Must be connected to a suitable safety barrier and protocol translator
