Baldwin Boxall DC Line Monitor BVRDADCThe Vigil BVRDADC is a loudspeaker line monitor and amplifier changeover unit for use with VIGIL amplifiers and the BVRD2M router. Each unit is supplied as a DIN rail-mounting module with screw terminals for connections to the amplifiers and loudspeaker lines. Connection to the BVRD2M is by CAN BUS ports. Each unit consists of ten channels that can be utilised for either dual or single circuit systems.For dual circuits ten working amplifiers five dual circuits and one standby amplifier can be accommodated. For single circuit systems ten working amplifiers ten single circuits and one standby amplifier are available. If an amplifier were to fail the BVRDADC automatically detects the faulty amplifier and switches over to a reserve amplifier until the fault has been rectified. A fault will be displayed on the BVRD2M front panel and also stored in the BVRD2M fault log.When the faulty amplifier has been replaced it is necessary to press the Fault Reset button on the front of the BVRD2M to restore the system and stop using the reserve amplifier. Each loudspeaker line including spurs must have an End of Line resistor fitted in parallel with the last physical loudspeaker on the line. All loudspeakers must be fitted with a DC Blocking capacitor. The BVRDADC monitors the integrity of the Loudspeaker Line by measuring a small DC current flowing through the End of Line resistors. Any change in this current indicates either a short circuit or open circuit condition on the loudspeaker line. Earth faults are also detected.

The BVRDNET is a factory fitted option for the BVRD2M and enables up to 126 systems to be networked together. The systems are fully monitored and connected in a loop configuration. The network will continue to function in the event of cabling damage at a single location.The network can be either Copper Multi-Mode Fibre Single Mode Fibre or a combination of both using the BVRDCIF BVRDFIF and BVRDFIFS interface modules. Two RS485 communication ports and up to 14 concurrent audio channels can be distributed around the network. Typical maximum distances for copper connection are 300m for slow speed providing six concurrent audio channels and 200m for fast speed providing 14 concurrent audio channels. The typical maximum distance for a multi-mode fibre connection is 3km and 4km for a single mode fibre connection.

Baldwin Boxall VIGIL2 Dual 125W Class D Amplifier BV125DThe BV125D Amplifier module contains two independent Class D Power amplifiers each with a single 500mV Balanced Line audio input and 125-Watt 100V Line output. The front panel status indicators show Power Overload and Output Level 10 and 100 output level for both amplifiers.The audio inputs to each amplifier are presented on separate RJ45 connectors. The outputs are presented on two 3-way plugcage clamp termination connectors providing 50V or 100V output. The 24V DC inputs are presented on two 2-way crimp connected sockets. The power output stages of the amplifiers are protected against overload conditions i.e. short circuits or abnormal loads.Should an amplifier be subjected to an abnormal load the input to the relevant power amplifier is attenuated to a safe level and the Overload LED will be illuminated. The amplifier output voltages are also sensed and should they exceed 100V the relevant input signal will be attenuated ensuring safe operation without creating unnecessary distortion.
