Agave Americana (Century Plant / Maguey / American Aloe)

At the other extreme it may be seen planted out in southern Arizona and Texas. They are usually cultivated outdoors in rock gardens as well as cactus and succulent gardens. They are often used in Mediterranean-style landscapes, in borders, or as a specimen plant. They require full sun and a very well-drained, slightly acidic, sandy or gravely soil. Blue Arizona Cypress (Cupressus Arizonica Fastigiata) – Pom Pon

Blue Arizona Cypress (Cupressus Arizonica Fastigiata) – Pom Pon

Charming pom pon topiary fashioned from Cupressus arizonica 'Fastigiata' (Arizona cypress). As its name suggests, the Blue Arizona Cypress is native to the North American states of Arizona and New Mexico, where it enjoys the dry climate. Cypress trees are vigorous-growing evergreens with flaking or scaly bark. The Blue Arizona’s usual shape is a pointed column, or an egg-like oval with a pointed top. Their needle-shaped leaves are aromatic and they grow in dense bunches, giving them a furry appearance. All conifers are known for their hardiness and resilience against the elements. Conifers get their name from the "cones" that they produce – which come in all shapes and sizes. Conifer leaves are evergreen and will either be needle-shaped or scale-like. All of our Hedging Plants allow you to style your garden in a range of different ways, not just because of their varied colours, but also because of the way you choose to trim and maintain them. Prune them regularly to achieve a neat, clean form, or let them bush-out a little to create a more natural appearance. Whether you’re using a hedge to give your garden some privacy, or as protection from the weather, road and noise pollution, you’ll want to choose a plant that complements the rest of your garden’s visual appearance. All of our Hedging Plants have evergreen foliage – giving you some pleasant greenery to look at all-year-round.
