Buxus Microphylla Faulkner (Box Faulkner) - Shrub

Buxus Microphylla Faulkner (Box Faulkner) - Shrub

A low-growing and compact evergreen shrub which is a popular choice for making hedge mazes. Box Faulkner has shiny green and yellow leaves that have a leathery texture and a pleasing "fresh" aroma. Its dense foliage makes it ideal for shaping into topiary or manicured hedges. Alternatively, because it only reaches heights of between 100cm – 150cm at maturity, it is popular as a "low maintenance" choice that can be left to its own devices. Despite its small size, Box Faulkner is very a tough plant and it shows good resilience towards the harsh British weather. All of our Hedging Plants allow you to style your garden in a range of different ways, not just because of their varied colours, but also because of the way you choose to trim and maintain them. Prune them regularly to achieve a neat, clean form, or let them bush-out a little to create a more natural appearance. Whether you're using a hedge to give your garden some privacy, or as protection from the weather, road and noise pollution, you'll want to choose a plant that complements the rest of your garden's visual appearance. All of our Hedging Plants have evergreen foliage – giving you some pleasant greenery to look at all-year-round. Acer Negundo is a plant that has its origins in North America, Guatemala and Mexico. The shoots are green, often with a whitish to pink or violet waxy coating when young. Acer Negundo 'Flamingo' (Box Elder 'Flamingo') - Standard

Acer Negundo 'Flamingo' (Box Elder 'Flamingo') - Standard

A variegated form of the Box Elder, the variegated pinnate leaves consist of green centers splashed at the edges with salmon pink, that later turns cream. Leaf stems are a dark, pinkish red whilst the pale grey of the branches look attractive in winter. Prone to shooting from the base it can be grown as a large shrub, though its ultimate shape will be oval. It will grow well in full sun or light shade and can cope with most soils though it likes free draining ground. The best displays of foliage occur when it has been pruned back hard in the winter Make sure to follow the advice of pruning group 1. Like many variegated trees it is prone to reversion, so any branches with purely green leaves will need to be removed completely. The variegated leaves of this tree make it a nice plant to use to contrast with darker plants. It can look very nice when planted with blue conifers such as Cupressus Arizonica Fastigiata. The hardiness is about H6 making it very durable for the British climate. Only shelter in extreme cold conditions. The plant is prone to potential pests and diseases so keep a look out for those.
