Because you get even more flexibility in the waistband when you use buttonhole elastic. You simply sew in a button and then adjust the width at the waist by placing the button in the buttonhole that suits you. Elastic band for flexible useIt's great for those days when you're feeling bloated. It's great if you have a design that fits both your waist and your hips, so you can change your look from time to time. And it's great when you lend your clothes to friends and you might not be wearing the same size. In general, it just gives you a lot of flexibility! The elastic is relatively firm made of polyester and rubber. Your project and purpose will determine which elastic you should choose. This elastic band is a flat with a width of ten millimetres. It is still considered a narrow elastic band, but with the extra millimetres you also get an elastic band that has a little more. For example, use the elastic in the drawstring at the bottom of the sleeves or to finish off baby and children's trousers so that the trouser legs stay in place while your child tumbles and plays.  This elastic is crocheted, made of polyester/rubber, washable at 40° and do not tumble dry.

The fabric measures 145 cm in width and shrinks by 6% when washed.  When working with jersey, we recommend using a jersey needle, characterised by having a medium point – also known as ball point. The Wide Bias Binding  Bias binding is a brilliant finish to your project; it provides a polished look!     This wide cotton bias binding is great for larger projects where you'd like a more visible effect, such as on a Christmas tree skirt or for edging a coat or jacket. Choose the colour that suits your project – should it match, provide a slight or strong contrast?     The bias binding is 30 mm wide, made from 100% cotton, and comes in a pack of 5 metres.     Worth Knowing About Bias Binding  Bias binding has the (almost) magical ability to adapt to many fabrics. It is – as the name suggests – cut on the bias and therefore naturally follows your curves, neckline cuts, corners, and edges. This results in a beautiful finish.     How to Sew On Bias Binding  Bias binding is for sewing onto curves, corners, and straight stretches. When sewing the bias binding onto your project, you stitch in straight lines with a stitch length of about 2.5 cm. While sewing, ensure you don't pull or stretch it. Let it align naturally along the edge for a neat finish.     TIP  When starting to sew your bias binding, fold in about 2 cm to create a double layer. Upon finishing, tuck the other end's fold over your folded start. The same principle applies when extending a bias binding.

When you sew your own rainwear, you have the opportunity to tailor it to your needs and preferences. Adjust the design to fit your exact figure and add pockets and other details to suit your needs.  To ensure your rainwear remains waterproof, it's important to seal the seams by making the correct stitches: Search for "seam tape for rainwear fabric" and find a free guide.  About Water Column Pressure Water column pressure indicates how large a column of water the material can withstand before water begins to penetrate. The higher the water column pressure, the more waterproof it is. A good rule of thumb is that +2,000 mm is good for light rain showers/short trips in the rain, while +5,000 is for a heavier rain shower or a couple of hours with light rain. If you're going to be out in heavy rain, we recommend +8,000 mm.  Some Practical Information This fabric consists of 65% polyester and 35% polyurethane. The width is 140 cm, while you naturally choose the length you need for your project.  We recommend using a universal needle size 70.  What is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®?
