Wonderful DIY in linen Linen is a completely natural material that has been used for summer clothing for many years – and this year is no exception!  Use linen for elegant summer shirts, a trendy bucket hat, a relaxed suit, a pair of shorts, or whatever your summer wardrobe is craving this season!   Pick your favourite colour and start with needle and thread.   Linen for the home Linen also works really well for cushions and teddy bears or as a tablecloth with matching napkins for a beautifully decorated table. Let the surface wrinkle naturally for a relaxed and modern look, or iron the tablecloth before use for a completely smooth surface.   Linen – the natural material Linen is a natural fibre that has been used for clothing for thousands of years. It is a durable, light, breathable and absorbent material, often used in warm weather. It tends to wrinkle and is therefore perfect for a more casual look.   Did you know that linen becomes softer when you wash it a few times?   A bit more about this linen The fabric is made of 100% linen, comes in a width of 135 cm and precisely the length you need. This linen shrinks 5% in wash.   We recommend using universal needles in size 80 when sewing in this linen.   What is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®? OEKO-TEX® is the world's leading health label for textiles.  When the fabric is certified according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®, it's your guarantee that it has been tested and approved and is free from any harmful chemicals.

Organic-blend 2x2 rib, baby blue

Organic-blend 2x2 rib, baby blue

Unleash your creativity with fantastic rib fabricRib is just always good for sewing own clothes. This rib fabric is knitted in 2x2, so you get a distinct structure of rib that is both casual and elegant (you can see the structure clearly in the photos). In practical terms, rib is great for the waistband of trousers and the end of sleeves, because the rib hugs the body, while the soft quality is pleasant to wear. A multitude of colours - find your favouriteOf course, you can use ribbed fabric for many different projects. For example, make a simple top in your favourite colour and see how the ribbed texture gives a great finish. Use the same pattern in different colours and create a wardrobe that's ready to jump into. Or make a matching set with leggings and top - the soft quality is unmistakable and the slightly chunky rib gives the perfect look for kids, teens and adults alike. Practical information about this fabricThis rib is made from 48% organic cotton, 47% modal and 5% elastane - a combination that makes it soft and stretchy. The fabric measures 90 cm in width and you buy it by the metre. It shrinks about 4% in the wash, and we recommend that you wash it before cutting and sewing your clothes. So you can be sure you get the best result matching the right size. Please remember to use jersey needles (item no. 46799 or 46028) when sewing in rib fabric. Partially OrganicThe products labelled partially organic have an organic content of at least 25%. This may include organic cotton fabrics mixed with other textiles. We have created this label so that you can easily find out the percentage of organic content.

Polar fleece light blue

Polar fleece light blue

The loveliest projects in fleeceFind your favourite colour and start creating your new project! Polar fleece is light, soft and stretchy - a great material that also insulates. That means it's perfect for lining a jacket or a nice, fluffy vest, for example. This is how easy it is to make a fleece blanketChoose the colour and cut the blanket to the exact size you want and voila: you have a new fleece blanket. It doesn't get any easier than this. And yes - it's good enough - you don't need to sew the edges; the material won't run. If you want to give your rug a nice finish with a sewn edge, we recommend using jersey needles, which are specially developed for qualities like this. They penetrate the fabric easily without leaving holes. Or how about making a reversible blanket or vest with two different colours of fleece - double up on warmth, softness and use. Fleece dries quickly, is robust and durable and therefore very easy to bring along, for example as extra blankets in the caravan. Practical information about polar fleeceThe fabric is 145 cm wide and you buy it by the metre, so you get the length you need. It's easy to throw in the washing machine at 40° max and is quick-drying, but can also be tumble-dried at a low temperature if you need it faster. Be aware that it shrinks about 3% in the wash, so it's a good idea to wash the fabric before starting your project. Please remember to use jersey needles (item no. 46799 or 46028) when sewing in fleece. What is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®?OEKO-TEX® is the world-leading label for textiles tested for harmful substances.Once the fabric has achieved a STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certification, it is your guarantee it has been tested and approved not to contain any harmful chemicals.

Corduroy 8 wales light blue

Corduroy 8 wales light blue

Modern retro in velvetWho doesn't dream of a pair of cool corduroy trousers for everyday and festive wear? We certainly do! And this corduroy is perfect for the purpose. It contains wide ridges (8 Wales) and is made from 100% cotton, so it is comfortable to wear and breathable. Velvet is hardwearing and suitable for both clothing and creative projects for the home. Velvet for you - and your home! You decide what you want to sew. There are of course the classic corduroy trousers, but it could also be a nice shirt-dress, a cool spencer or maybe a smaller project like a lovely bucket hat? And when it comes to home-ware: How about sewing some velvet cushions for the sofa? Or you can use velvet to make the coolest shopper or belt bag. Find your favourite colours and get started with scissors, needle and thread!   Velvet is sold by the metre, so simply order the length you need. The width is 140 cm and the fabric shrinks about 3% in the wash.   Remember to use the right needles - we recommend a size 80 universal needle.  What is Wales? Wales indicates the width of the raised ridges in the velvet that defines the velvety texture of the fabric. A low Wales indicates wide ridges i.e. less ridges per inch. On the other hand, a high Wales indicates narrow ridges. For example velvet with 4 Wales per inch has wide ridges and will feel heavier, while velvet with 21 Wales per inch has narrow ridges and will feel finer. What is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®? OEKO-TEX® is the world-leading label for textiles tested for harmful substances.Once the fabric has achieved a STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certification, it is your guarantee it has been tested and approved not to contain any harmful chemicals.Meaning it is neither harmful to you nor your health and it’s less harmful to the environment.
