Bridal satin - the heavy satinIt's in the name: here you have a wonderful, elegant satin in an extra heavyweight quality that provides great volume and a really elegant drape. The fabric is perfect for the dresses of the bride, bridesmaids and confirmands - but can of course be used for other projects too. Practical information about this satinThe heavy satin - 195 g/m2 - gives the best drape without feeling heavy or bulky. You buy the fabric by the metre, so you get exactly the length you need. It measures 145 cm wide and is made from 100% polyester. Wash it at 40°, make sure it dries hanging and iron on a low heat. TIP: Pay attention to the direction of the thread when laying out your pattern pieces. Your project usually needs to follow the direction of the thread to get the right look. And once you've started the pattern, use fine pins to hold it in place - it will glide easily on the shiny surface. For this satin you will need microtex needles.
