Joseph Horovitz. Suite of five pieces for brass quintet: two trumpets, horn, trombone and tuba. Set of parts.This work was composed in 1964 at the request of the well known American tuba player Roger Bobo. It was soon taken into the repertoire of the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble, who gave the first BBC broadcast. The first recording was on Pye records, by the Hallé Brass Ensemble. Since then it has become a regular repertoire piece and recorded as well as broadcast all over the world.The Suite consists of five movements, all illustrating aspects of the Burlesque Theatre, Music Hall, circus and cabaret, so popular at the end of the 19th century and into the 20th. The titles of the short movements are: Soubrette Song, Trick Cyclists, Adagio Team, Soft Shoe Shuffle and Les Girls.The five orchestral brass instruments (two trumpets, horn, trombone and tuba) are exploited in a chamber music manner, but the cumulative effect has a theatrical quality in keeping with the title.

Written for SATB soloists, with SATB chorus, Brass Quintet and Organ, this setting was inspired by the illustrations of 18th Century Japanese artist Utamaro. McCabe has selected a group of texts that are chosen to express the period of spring to autumn from the view of the Garden and it's inhabitants, including the birds, insects, plants and animals. The texts are taken from sources as diverse as John Clare, William Blake and Walt Whitman. The set was written in 2003/04 and commissioned by The John Armitage Memorial Trust.

Charles Hubert Hastings Parry with an important composer of the late 19th and early 20th century best known for his hymn Jerusalem, but also widely influential in his compositions and as head of the Royal College of Music. The later years of Organist, teacher and composer Hubert Parry’s life were a fruitful time of composition and academic output. He published two sets of seven Chorale preludes for Organ, mostly in the structural style of the Bach Chorale preludes, with contrapuntal phrases alternating with statement of the Chorale theme, usually in the upper part.The largest of the preludes, Hanover, features two statements of the tune paired with sweeping arpeggios and a stream of semiquavers in the left hand. There are several instances of thundering finales. The book includes Chorale preludes on the tunes of St Mary, Eventide, St Cross, St Thomas, Hanover, Martyrdom and Croft’s 136th .
