Secrets of the Universe
Petra Šuško (*1976) studied composition and piano at the Janá ek Conservatory in Ostrava. She graduated in composition and music production from the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, from the composition class of Milan Slavický. In recent years Petra has focused mainly on pedagogical activity, and on working as a music producer. Petra’s compositions have been awarded numerous prizes in the “Generation” competition for composers. She has been a finalist in the Czech section of the international competition electro-acoustic music, Musica Nova (2019). Currently Petra is devoting her time to composing piano pieces for children. Secrets of the Universe is a collectionof fivefantasy recital pieces designed for both young and adult pianists who have already mastered basic piano playing skills and who are searching for music either to enhance their classical repertoire or just for fun. The compositions are created in such a way that the original short melodic-rhythmical patterns, that are the core of all these pieces, are fully exploited. The pieces are actually easier than they seem at first sight, and thanks to their sonority they make a very striking and fresh impression.
